    Remove the crimp ONLY!! Not 1/3rd to 1/2 of the primer pocket.

      Necks will usually split before I lose a primer pocket. 223 brass is plentiful, so I'm not too worried about it for bulk/volume blasting ammo 👍

    I had a minor issue with the shell holder staying down. Or not resetting upright. I added two small rubber bands to the back end where the set screw is and it reliably springs back up.

    I started to load the .357 with 2400 in about 1970 for a Ruger Blackhawk. My favorite load has always been 14.0 with the RCBS 162 swc/gc bullet. This is a pretty stiff load, and has taken quite a few deer out of a 6" model 66 Smith. Just loaded a box of them last week for my Marlin 1894.

      Nice! I've moved to nail polish from Amazon for $1.38 each. Tons of colors and it's 95% the same as a "primer sealer" for 5% of the cost.

    I forgot I still have a bottle of this laying around. Thought it would be neat to glue in my 209 primers to my Cheddite hulls. Works good for that and keep them in place. Looks super messy and unprofessional when I get done, but it works. I forgot I had it cause I go to the dollar store and use nail polish now.

    You can get 10 reloads out of those hulls, and people know it, that is why they cost 10 cents a piece to buy once fired hulls.

      Not shave them down, just run through a push through sizing die like normal. Some people do .454 in between for smaller steps, but I haven't needed to for my purposes. I compared the factory data I could find and made a few somewhat educated guesses. Luckily, Hornady and now Hodgdon and others have put out data for the 395gr Sub X bullets, so it gave a starting point. Thanks

    At the beginning, you said the vld was too steep of an angle to ream out enough material. I'm running into the same problem with my Hornady reamer. I know you say you swage now, but what's the tool you have installed in the case prep center?

      It was a decent price at grafs, so I grabbed two bags. Factory ammo is $1+ per shot and loaded hotter than I want to shoot in a 100+ year old gun. Light cast loads will give me many firings through that brass👍🇺🇲

      @@DummyRound I use the $12 Amazon mount . Just don't use the front screws they supply to use . That is the weak link , Instead use the original sight pin in the place of the screws . Otherwise you'll spend around $100 for a mount . And some of these use the tiny screws also . I went with the long eye relief scout scope to still use stripper clips . I got the scope , mount combo .

      @@DummyRound no glue gun? Lol dang. Ryobi makes a battery pack one. I did it to my hornady auto and it seems to work. Better, idk. You have a nice scale to compare it to now, so id be curious. Before, sometimes I’d get a “waterfall” when it’s trying to trickle. I think I put a 243 neck on. Just be careful not to make it the whole case or the spout will stick out past the powder dish.       @allthingsconsidered3211 it does pretty well with flakes and sticks, but it has gone over a few times using ball powders. I need the taller Area 419 scale pan, ball powders jump out of the factory pan and fall into the screen and buttons and make them stick, which is really annoying. Might have to try your mod first.

      It has many different units. It calibrated with grams because that is what the weights are measured in. It changes to grains after the initialization 👍

    Seems when I reload my hulls for 12 gauge, the crimp star is setting deep in the hull instead of flat. 🤷‍♂️

      @@45showdown you need a different wad to raise the shot column, or try some card fillers at the bottom of the was cup so your shot sits higher in the shell. You can add cards to the top of the stack before crimping, too👍🇺🇲

      The top of your shot should be right at the bottom of the fold from the old crimp, if that makes sense

    My guess is your rifle needs better free floating. Looks like the barrel is contacting when it gets hot. Try testing the same exact loads in reverse order and see if the same thing happens. If so either remove the stock material where it’s pinching or sell the gun and move onto something with better bedding and free floating.

    Id be looking at which cases each data provider used. Anything using Federal, IMI, PPU, or Hornady generally has lower case capacity. I worked up my first 308win load with 4064, with speer 165gr BTSP and its a good powder. I'll try it in 7mm-08, as ive heard it performs well in that as well.

      Yeah, that would have helped. 308 and 7.62 can have a huge swing in capacity from brand to brand. Always have to start low and work up because of that. 4064 is one of my favorites, but it's $60+/lb these days and I can't afford that 🤣

    Take a Dixie cup. And pour the brass in on the outer side of the bowl and shake. You will get far less wrong side up cases. Instead of them just dropping right down the tube upside down.

    The primer is easy but as you said idk if putting it on the neck will cause any issue. I figure it wont since all the eastern steel case have it. Also tried paint markers for metal working on the neck, seems to be easier to apply but its a more solid color.
