I can’t say I’ve owned a Raptor 700, but I got the 660 when I was 12 or 13 back in 04. A friend of mine had the 04 YFZ 450 and right then I could tell a huge difference. I fell in love immediately. I didn’t get my first YFZ until 08, I got the orange and black SE. I never looked back. YFZ over any Raptor all day. Unless you have kids Raptor 90/110 over YFZ 50 depending on age of course. 80cc if they want/prefer the 3 speed.

My wr250 ran lean when I first rode it so it was fire and flams like a ramstien concert and the header pipe could cook and a medium rare steak Edit: why does the red go away. Is it unburnt fuel in the header that’s cooling the pipe like why does it get less red

hey rodney shaffer. I have a concern i want to confide in you . these yfz 450s, many youtube content creators say the clutch is a ticking time bomb, they claim to say the clutch basket is no good. Im just asking you if that would be a good idea to swap out the factory basket for a hickson clutch. I have a 2024 yfz450r by the way. Would really appreciate your help because im scared on if my brand new bike's clutch will explode and ill have to jump thousands of dollars just to fix it and im scared to invest in such an expensive clutch, id really appreciate your help on this. Looking forward to hearing back from you soon.

One thing nobody really likes talking about is the ECU issue where yamaha hard wired in 2014 and after models the lean first Mode, your idle to 1/4 throttle, mode 2 is mid range and 3 is top end as far as lean/rich to the injector. On 0 to 1/4 throttle it is hardwired into the ECU due to EPA Standards and cannot be changed, only mid (2nd mode) and top end (3rd mode). The work around as I have been told is you need an 2009-2013 ECU or the expensive $1000 Vortex ECU, because, getting rid of LEAN is going to be the first thing you wanna be able to do. Definitely look into it, the HMF people know, but they dont tell you this. The controller will work like it's trying to follow your settings but it cant, I still run too lean in the PA mountains and I'm pissed.
