Many different people tend to want different things from you if you want them to need you for something or feel like they need you even if it's none of your business, and it would be a fruitless act to attempt to please every single person's demand for you. Sometimes in bigger groups when one person/being is in some form of distress, it's more unlikely that anyone among this group will try to help that person because why jump in to help when someone else can already do that for you cause it's lazy but seemingly so simple. In a smaller group where you personally recognize every person even if atleast by their name and face and who they are in terms of personality, you can better guarantee who does and who doesn't genuinely care for you when you're at your best AND lowest. Someone who's capable of spending prolonged periods of time by themselves in solitude instead of loneliness knows themselves in what they're capable of and who they truly are regardless of who others assume is that someone, and that's really a freedom in and of itself.
