Ride1Up Portola Full Range Test! Pedal Assist Only!
Today I took the Ride1Up Portola with the 10.4ah battery on a full scale range test. Using only pedal assist 2 and 3 I was able to go extremely far on this budget bike. Watch the whole video to see how far we made it! I was extremley impressed with the results!

Ariel Rider X-Class 52v Hill Climb Test ! Will it make it up ?
I would be concerned about efficiency I actually pedal my bike for maximum efficiency during long rides
If that’s what you’re most concerned about for your ride there are definitely better options. Like the Vee Speedsters or there’s a lot of good lighter tire options out there !
Im looking at getting my first onegweel there a cheap gt with like 100 miles or aould i get a pint
I’d definitely get a GT even if it’s more expensive. More room for your feet. More comfortable ride and way more range and speed. The pint is a fun way to get into onewheeling but you’ll be left wanting more.
Ok thanks
you never go straight tryina balance on a curb but you’ll go straight as an arrow without trying or realizing going down the road…
That’s just the way it goes !
Can't do a wheelie on one wheel though
It’s always a wheelie on the onewheel !
Where was the wheelie? You went up the same way and stayed the same way the whole video
LMAO ! I think They should Find another Name for STREET WHEELS they are the WORST for Street riding !
Street riding is really all you’ll do with street wheels ! They definitely aren’t as comfortable as some of the other options. But, a nice pair of street wheels on some smooth new asphalt feels better than anything you get so much grip.
What board is that
Its called a onewheel
@@wombatzombat2652 thx
Yes it’s a onewheel XR !
🤘🏼🤘🏼🤘🏼✅✅✅ 🔥 🔥
Great content 👍🏾👌🏾
I appreciate it ! Thanks for coming by and watching !
Is this the 220 lb spring or 210 lb spring?
Mine was the 550lb spring that was the only options when I got it. If I were to pick any option now I’ll probably get a 350 if they have it
@@MeedersPEVS thank you for quick response
I get 36 on mine. I weigh 160lb
How do you like the V Huntsman? Any balancing issues with the tires? How did it affect range of the X-Class? Thanks!
I absolutely love my huntsman’s I had no issues balancing them or any sort of vibration or wobble on the road. The ride true and smooth. I did loose some range. I would say about 3-5 miles per charge. It’s kinda hard to tell since there are so many variables that go into it. But they are a heavier tire that does require more work to get going. But they can also coast really well so it all depends on how you ride your bike.
if youre getting 15 miles you gotta have something wrong with your battery im getting at least 30 with those tires
I live in a very hilly area and am pretty much always full throttle or going offroad through trails which can really kill the battery quick
You almost died at the end 😂

great video. do you find the handle bars to be a little short?
@@MankickNo they’re in a pretty comfortable position for me ! I am on the taller side so I wouldn’t complain if they were like an inch higher. But they’re in a super comfortable casual position. I haven’t noticed it being uncomfortable or feeling too low even after my long rides
@@MeedersPEVS I meant length wise
@@Mankick Gotcha they’re a good width. Honestly they are a lot wider that most folding e-bike handlebars. They feel comfortable and aren’t to wide that you’re gonna have issues going through narrow spots. I think the go pro makes them look a bit smaller than they are.
@@MeedersPEVS I actually have one.I bought this bike second to my Velotric Fold 1. I suppose I have become comfortable with the width of the fold 1, so sitting with this bike felt strange with the change in handle bar size. I bought this bike for my wife, and if it is all she knows, perhaps it will work. Only time will tell.
I just had these installed today, I have to say the bike feels like it struggles a bit to get the power that it used to have. They feel a bit too heavy for me off the bat I can feel the motor working harder and first gear up to 16 mph more more of like a vibration in the bike, it goes away after I leave 1 gear but seems to make the bike work harder
stop with that stinking drum beat please

It’s not fare to call the first and more unique Portola color picked, “charcoal”. It’s originally - a “black onix” gemstone color and indeed I can confirm it’s not really a typical very dull mat black charcoal finish. Instead it is a very unique lustrous elegant Black Onix color like the gemstone, which I already gifted my beautiful daughters in form of bracelet for this my new e-bike occasion. The Chinese manufacturer of Ride1Up brand succeeded to match the intended “Black Onix” color name and got this unique gemstone paint on Portola. And made it even more stand alone among not only other Ride1Up e-bike models, but also unique stand alone view in this today’s e-bike market. I do not know the name of the color-decider but I would like to congratulate him/her with this Portola color achievement. Bravo for this Portola Black Onix gemstone of a bike, even if my Portola was delivered with a single frame color dent spot scratched deeply. But I still love the Portola appearance in Black Onix.
It seems to be all the rage in the comments, so I will do the same, what size is your 10.4AH battery? 80km is pretty impressive range. Looking forward to the throttle only test!
Yes I do have the 10.4 Ah battery ! The other available size is a 13.4 Ah. And I know I was extremely impressed. I’ll be curious to see how throttle only does too. Thanks so much for watching :)
OMG I AM SO SCARED OF SNAKE
Gotta watch out!!!
You used 10.4Ah Portola battery. Also it’s interesting to know what is your height and what number you set on your saddle post extended? Since Portola display (vs. known M5 display, for example) doesn’t have an option to follow accurately with the battery discharge (it’s known that the most accurate follow up with battery discharge is following on the display in terms of voltage consumption) during riding vs. following with the provided 5 bars battery charge on KD21C display. It’s tricky for the rider to know exactly how much battery voltage % left. Also since it’s not advisable to deplete the battery to zero, is this a problem testing the Portola range? Even on PAS 3 (more comfortable torque for such a long range achieved of 47 mi (it’s much better range performance of Portola w/ the usually ignored 10.4Ah battery option). Remarkable given the range of the competitors in this price range of $1K and below. Bravo Portola, thank you for this video test that is very encouraging for owners like me who got 10.4Ah. Portola in this range test obviously outperformed most of the competition.
Yes I have the 10.4ah. I’m about 5’11” and I have my seat post pulled out to the 4 position. I’m not a huge fan of bars instead of voltage for battery readings but it’s the easiest for most people to understand. I haven’t had much of an issue with it. And it’s just not great to leave the battery drained for a long while. I waited about 10 minutes after I got home to let the battery cool and then charged it back up to about 50% it really shouldn’t cause any bit of an issue just not great to do every time you rode. But I am extremely impressed with my range PAS definitely is the more comfortable way to cruise for long range but this is definitely the best bike in this price range. I wish more people knew about this hidden gem ! Thanks for watching the video :)
What size is your battery ?
I have the smaller 10.4 amp hour battery
I have the portola with the larger battery…I love it!
It’s a great bike ! I bet the bigger battery is nice to have
It sounded like the Aztec whistle at the end😭
Got the belts screaming!

Yessir it was a good thing for the both of us !
After taking a few falls at 25-30 mph, I wish you luck! I wear light weight leather palmed fishing gloves and knee and elbow wraps… leather is easier to replace than flesh 😀
Better to be safe than sorry ! I should get a pair of gloves it’s just been hard to find one that won’t interfere with my ability to use the remote well. Knock on wood I haven’t had too many bad falls on the electric boards. I’ve had my fair share of lost skin on a regular longboard tho.
@@MeedersPEVS check out some of the fingerless fishing gloves, I too had a hard time with the remote and gloves but those work great, just have slide on the palms 😂 they arnt perfect but the ones I fell in were tore up and my hands mostly ok
🤙🏽⚡️🤙🏽
Torque? *Tourque?*
All the torque !

Keep it up❤🎉
Thank you ! Will do :)
This is cool
Thank you !!
On a one wheel.. savage
I am the first comment 😊❤🎉
Thanks for commenting! #1🎉
The tires say 36psi on the sides. How much should actually be put in?
25 psi is pretty good for trail riding and offroading if you’re looking for good grip but will definitely reduce the range a bit more. If you’re just gonna be doing street riding and on asphalt 30-32 psi is great to have better range and a more smooth ride!
😂👌
You know of a good source when it comes to purchasing used onewheels? Wanted one for a very long time but very hesitant on purchasing brand new since I really have nowhere to go and atleast try one out.
I just bought mine off Facebook marketplace. I would check on there and see if there’s any onewheel groups in your area and ask if anyone’s selling. I’d just ask them to meet up at a mall or something like that with a big parking lot and they can show you how the board rides or you could try it out for yourself ! But Facebook marketplace is definitely the way to go to find any around you

That was sick !
Even lightweight gloves save some skin in the event you don’t save it 😀 speaking from experience
You’re lucky !
Yeah this could’ve been real bad !
I wouldn’t see this as the best content but nice job
Why even post something that pitiful?
onewheel dudes do nothing and then post it
i’ve seen cool shit on onewheels but nothing online reflects that
I tried that an my one wheel stoped work and my battery box was full of water. Probably because it was a cbxr
Oh yikes that’s not good. I have a Badger kit on mine which helps waterproof the board.
Nice tree smack on your helmet 😂
So smooth I still don’t know how to ride a skateboard
Thanks man ! It all just takes some practice and time but you’ll get good if you just keep trying :)
Not even pev just any wheeled transport
The brake caliper shouldn't need to come off but I'm doing this and it's a newer bike... about 600 miles
It’s possible to do it without taking off the caliper it just makes it a lot easier to shimmy the wheel off to get the chain off without having to worry about destroying your pads.
i just replaced a tire, boy you were right about squeezing out that extra air before removal, makes all the difference.
