If yall would learn how to read, and bothered to read the bible, you would know that tithing is mandatory. To the church? NO! Not unless it adheres to Yahuahs laws. Sabbath, feasts and all. The discipline of the giving of tiths is falesy. Tiths (money) as a prove of your faith is works. The DISCIPLINE that the sheep should be taught is their sacrifice of their time to give ear to the word of GOD. The KJV argument does sound a lot like the argument islamists put forward concerning the Quran, as white stated. It is also, as white stated, a defense against Islamic critiques that there is a mass of manuscripts, rather than one source, disseminated outward because that would have been impossible to control. No matter how many people I have heard say KJV is easy to read, it still falls on deaf ears to the common person who comes before you wanting to understand what scripture teaches. I read KJV, NASB and ESV and compare them frequently. I have never found the differences to be as vast a hurdle as the language in the KJV. It is a stumbling block to a generation that won’t read a news article, let alone an old English form of something that has conveyed its meaning across languages, cultures, and time. I think we hold a small view of God if he can’t preserve the meaning and convey it to readers over multiple languages and large periods of time. I understand the KJV position. Change is scary. There is security in what you know. When what you know, however, comes under the microscope in light of new information, it warrants reexamination. On a side note, it really bothers me when debaters repeat the same lines over and over in defense of their argument. Interact with the information. Repeated phrases tell me that either you are refusing to engage the challenges to your point of view, or that you don’t have an argument against the challenge presented. I go to a church that uses KJV, read it myself but I still believe as believers we are required to be able to give an answer for what we believe and be able to address and reexamine what we believe on a regular basis so that it is true to the comprehensive teaching of scripture.
