  • @vashamuhlisaergasheva2977

    Hello, Jemmy! I agree that it feels like a dilemma. Personally for me, i am really tolerant person, and I am convinced that being open and getting immersed into the dutch culture whenever moving there is a great and such a respectful idea. However, in my case, I am afraid that requirements to know the Intermediate Dutch would prevent me from doing my masters and applying for masters. Meanwhile working and trying to apply you know, i think it is gonna be a challenge to really acquire the language level in the tight deadlines. Maybe for some people investing some more time feels reasonable, but ig not in my case, because I am not planning on living in the netherlands (or any other dutch speaking country) afterwards. Tha main counterargument, I assume, is that I want to do my masters in pedagogical science and youth at risk - and i am going there to have chance to EXCHANGE with experiences, talents, share opinions with international english speaking students all over the world. It feels like coming up at one place and really exchanging the knowledge to help develop education and youth all around the world. Maybe the language of instruction could be changed in some other specialties, but I find it not that relevant for mine

      @jemmyadams4534 Před měsícem

      Hello 😊 Thank you for sharing your perspective on the discussion. Your comment truly highlights some of the complexities involved. Your point is valid; it is challenging to invest time and effort to learn Dutch solely for the purpose of studying here, especially considering that you're not planning to stay in the Netherlands or any other Dutch-speaking country after completing your studies. Asking for such a requirement would definitely act as a barrier for potential international students (which I think might be the intention), but on the other hand, doing so also means losing the value of diverse perspectives and the global exchange of knowledge for which Dutch education is particularly known. The good news is that they are not entirely scrapping the existing English-taught courses, only placing a cap on the number of students that can be admitted. Perhaps you would still find schools offering a master's in pedagogical science in English. I truly love the diversity I experienced here in the education system and I’m sure if you find an English-taught course, you will love it here. Thank you once again for sharing your thoughts. And keep me posted on the outcome of your decision.

    • @jemmyadams4534
      @jemmyadams4534 Před 2 měsíci

      Age is not a barrier to studying here. If you want to pursue your master at 40, you definitely should. Additionally, it is the school’s responsibility to apply for his visa. So, if he is admitted, he should pay his fees. The school will process his visa and he gets his mvv stamp at an embassy in Accra or Cotonou.
