Do you guys get your comics a day early?? Or perhaps you're a distro? My local store just opened not even a half hour ago (USA 10:26AM EST 9/11/24). Literally JUST ordered this! Haha

@@kapowcomicsuk Awesome! I had an inkly-tinkly it was something of the sort. This shop seems sweet. Little bastion of Nerddom in a seemingly nice, quiet area. Your town seems like it would politely chuckle if it heard any U.S. town call itself "old". 😂
When I read this...I kept getting Joe Hill vibes. Specifically the Basket Full of Heads series. It's probably just the Norse mythology in both but it could be a cool yet bizarre crossover.
I added this to my pull, but I am a big fan of Norse myths, and think it could be a great way to tell their stories
Took a couple days to get to this book through last week's releases. It's very good so far. Was nervous about the time setting - usually the genre is bit slow. This was incredibly well paced. I look forward to next month's. RIP Pugg.

Joe Hill was the one who did IN THE TALL GRASS with Stephen, not Owen. Owen co-wrote a novel titled SLEEPING BEAUTIES with his dad but he's not really a horror author.

I'm slightly confused. I play the game and am not accustomed to looking for comics. Since it's a new release it's really hard to find any info on it. I read somewhere that there's 4 books? How would someone go about getting theyre hands on them? Do you have any good sites you use?
The whole run will be four issues, but only three are out so far. The sales on issue one were way better than th epublisher expected, and as such, it has become a sought after collectible. Even the second printing is sold out all over! You can either poke eBay, see what you can get, or hang fire until the collected edition drops, which will be December 4th
I HOPE HE DOES THE 50 ISSUES BECAUSE I AM LOVING THIS SERIES

My 17 year old son keeps gushing about how good the Last Ronin stuff that recently came out is. He says it's the best thing he's ever read.
Hard to argue with that! I would say that some of the creators they have on the new ongoing relaunch stuff are also bringing fire though!

I like this channel but I actually don't watch it that much because I get notifications that new videos are upcoming but not when they're actually out. So I'll click and it's not available and then I'll forget to go back and check later. It would help me out a lot if they were just available instead of needing to wait for the premiere. It might help increase views. Maybe. I'm not an expert on this. I'm just relaying my personal experience. But I've definitely bought and loved new comics because of your videos. Thanks for doing these!
Thanks for the advice! I do tend to record the day before, and then set them up to be live in the morning as I'm usually busy when I open the shop and can't always grab the time to do it! I'll see if I can do things differently though!
Gerard Way and Kevin Smith have also done some great work, and I really love John Cleese's Superman - True Brit!

Good review . I love this ongoing "What If" Universe that is closely related to the 616. This seems like an update on Silver Age Avengers. Tony Stark and Thor led the team in those old comics. Even after Captain America joined. Csp didn't lead until the roster change when Hawkeye, Quicksilver and the Scarlet Witch join. I will check out more of your videos 👍

Love the Star Wars nod on the cover (which is appropriate if you know that a few spaghetti westerns and Star Wars itself are based on Akira Kurosawa's Hidden Fortress, a really old black and white Samurai movie). Might have to look into this :D

Sadly not. No customer orders, so missed it off the order, and now every one is saying it's great, and it's no longer available to order!

@@arnold-hu4vk Being a small store, i can't just order all the things! Sometimes it means we miss out on stuff, but other times, I order what I like, and it means we still spare copies of Grommets #1 on the rack!

Also as someone who's actually played the video game i like how they we're able to natural weave in some of the lines straight from the game into this adaptation

Thanks for the review man , I also agree that the characters may not get fleshed out like they should, but most of these 4 to 5 issue one off's have that trouble atm.
Voltan is a right bastard alright, lol. Hawk the Slayer is still an enjoyable bad movie.
Yeah it was a good read a little fast paced but I enjoyed it..
Even double sized, it was just a one shot, so they got through it at pace!

There's been a few Maiden Comic Books. We've got the recent Piece of Mind anthology back in stock next week, and there's been two volumes of Legacy of the Beast books too
Flash Gordon was my favourite pick up from the fcbd bundle. Although very excited for absolute power
I tend to prefer DC events over Marvel ones, as they usually have less mandatory buy in, and waaay less optional extras. I 'm pulling Batman, Detective, Wonder Woman, & Flash from DC - and Hellbalzer - so hopefully I won't have to get too many extras...
This one is ordered and on it's way. Also a big fan of westerns!

Thanks for the review. The subtlety piece was tough to work with given the limited number of issues to introduce a new superhero, superpower, and villain, but I'm glad you enjoyed the story and the art.

Not gonna lie, glad I'm not the only one to spot it...
I remember asking you about children's comic books, but there are loads nowadays. I loved DC's "the mystery of the meanest teacher" for example. I work with kids and I know being a geek is still relatively cool right now, but as you say, back in the day, we were odd and different and strange, but we knew who we were and what we loved! Keep these kinds of conversations going. It is wonderful food for thought!
