This live performance video is the best rendition I've seen of My Cosmos is Mine a track from the latest album Memento Mori by the brilliant Depeche Mode. I love how Gaham sports this new slightly sinister look with pale face and dark makeup giving him an other worldly appearance. He seems to be posturing like a Devil or a God on a giant seat haha. I think his appearance may have been inspired by watching early Gary Numan videos. Memento Mori seems to be a slightly nostalgic feel and draws on Kraftwerk's sound style the original pioneers of electronic music in Germany. In the track People Are Good we hear the up down tickle from Kraftwerk's Computer World song. I wonder if Dave and Martin sat together watching early music videos from the late 70's and early 80's by Gary Numan and Kraftwerk and it inspired the new album and look.
