"The direct action day" movement was called by the All India Muslim League, and as the partition was unavoidable, the provincial government and PM of Bengal Suhrawardy announced the day as a holiday and supported the movement. But the politicians of the All India Muslim League were obstructed by the opposition parties, such as the Indian National Congress. The clash between these two groups converted into communal riots, which spread throughout the nation and affected people from both the Muslim and Hindu communities. He dreamed about United Bengal, which was another proposition from Bengali political leaders. If the proposition passed successfully, there would be three counties in 1947: India, Pakistan, and United Bengal (as it was during the provincial system). But the attempt failed, as the INC didn’t want to let go of a well-established city like Kolkata. So Kolkata was unified with India, and the rest of Bengal became a part of Pakistan, which later gained freedom from Pakistan and is now known as Bangladesh. India helped in our liberation war; that's why we are grateful, but Hossain Shahid Suhrawardy is also a respected political figure in our country and a pioneer of the Bengali civil rights movement during the Pakistani period, which later converted into the Liberation War movement. Everyone tries to depict history from their own point of view, but 100% truth can't be known now because, as we know, history is the story of the dead.
