So check it guys! I turned the volume up on the head unit, gain all the way up, full tilt on the Bass knob and couldn't blow these two subs! The Amp I was using was a taramps 3000.1. I can't believe these subs lasted that long. But I did however started to smell the hifonics during the test! Sanding, glazing compound more sanding. Repeat . Spreading compound/ mud is a talent if you aren’t good at it then it’s gonna need a lot of sanding. 🤷🏽♂️one thing at once. Vinyl wrap is something that can really be better than paint especially for amateurs because it looks good no matter what. Another note birch wood from Home Depot and Lowe’s isn’t real birch. Layer up your panels, 3/4 thick and use what you can afford. Better to keep progressing than to get hung up trying to buy something you can’t afford. I used sanded pine and it’s fine. Also a lot of construction sites sometimes will have left over sheets, just pull up on some and ask them to call you when they have leftovers. Marketplace is another place. A lot of DYI people buy sheets and get too much and then they will sell it on there for super cheap. Maybe you won’t get all of it but a couple of cheaper pieces always helps. At the end of the day it’s always progress not perfection. Yes it needs to be the way you want it but it also needs to move forward. Somehow you have to figure out how to balance all of that. Of course trying record all of it only makes it that much slower and everyone in the comments giving advice (like me) doesn’t help either, especially when a lot of those people need to be seeking advice and not giving it 🤷🏽♂️
@@RealPivotTV I got some glazing compound just yesterday. Sanding has been a biotch! 🤣 My biggest concern is myself. I get all these ideas at once and never just finish one task at a time. I definitely need to work on that. As far as the lowes lumber. I agree bro! They are terrible. I've been looking into lumber yards and marketplace for wood. Especially if I can get it cheaper. Hey amigo, currently I'm using two 500w sub with 1200 watt amplifier and I burn my alternator 😂😂, I do have second battery for my security cameras , one 2.5 FARAD will be enough?
Lol I honestly think you'll be OK without anything extra! If you start getting up in the 2000 watt or more range... Then consider upgrading then. But you should be good for right now! 👍🏽😁
For small divots and dents get a tube of glazing compound it's easier to smooth with a putty knife you just can't apply it too heavy I usually get it from NAPA I think buuuuuuddy.

I had a custom PORTED box built for a shallow 12 and i am freaking amazed on how it sounds! In in a single cab truck behind the seat and it moves my dashboard 😮 id never expected that from a single shallow 12

Focus on one thing at a time. You doin too much at once. And once you start in that area, dont stop til its complete to your liking. It just takes time and money. Take it slow, no rush, its your project.

if more push proper boxes 1st alot of pppl would be amazed what a 1500 amp could do with a single sub or two in a good box
at the end off the day all woofers make bass and 1st important getting proper cubed ported box for your sunmbs in specs and decentl power .and for everday average no comp ppl 1500 to 3k amp true rms and electrical to support . but some subs do sound differently but all will produce in proper box key . either u like loud high hz or low low herts 33 and lower . and again proper box dont cram sibs in any box. sometimes a lil bigger box performs better and less power than specs range

@@ineedbass1I learned after spending 100 here 150 there and having ppl build a box and it was killing my subs to small yes the woofer fit but the air space needed more I didn't know much about air volume net and gross what manufacturers recommend is on point or 10 2 20% larger depending if u like boomy or muddy what some call it lol but most hip is muddy
@@ineedbass1and that's where user era cause alot of negative reviews not sayin some subs don't malfunction but most of my issues has been me not the product lol and iam not ashamed. ppl dont wanna look silly when they buy there 2st amp and spent good and blew it because I'll fix that ground later

I install and build some enclosures. Here and there. I decided I wanted to try a budget bass system. I have 6 of the hifonics 12's on a taramps 3k. In a 9 cubic ft. Enclosure. Tuned to 35hz. For what it is. It Slams. And I push the hell out of it. It's been just fine for months now. Hard to beat for the price. The biggest issue I have with them. The plastic caps over the magnet. Will need to be glued down. They will rattle like hell. And the spade connections suck! Lol
Yooo! I did a battle with this sub and a massive tko in taramps 3k. And they both didn't blow. It's crazy how much they actually took! It's actually on my channel, if you wanna see it. But it held up great! 😅
I don't hate on SKAR its a cookie cutter sub ordered from China like a lot of other manufacturers do. Nothing special about them at all. Nice and cheap. It's like an American Bass type of sub. Really didn't see it jumping like like whoa shit!!! that thing is coming out da box!! It's probably one of the best subs for the money you can get in the basic catergory. Think the biggest has a 300 ounce motor?? That is common. They need to make one with a 900 ounce motor that's rated at 4k and sell it for 500.
I feel you! Alot of subs are from overseas! And sometimes they'll surprise you! The zvx is definitely the best skar sub, especially for the price. I would like to see future skar subwoofers and amps on the market. But it might be a little while before then. I appreciate you for coming through! And saying this, cause there's alot of people that wants to bump... And don't want to spend alot of money on something they're not into like we are. 💯

My frequency was around 40 hz, I believe. It's been awhile 😅

I would go with the ddx, just because it's basically for spl. It'll give you deeper bass! 💪

I was outta the bass head family for about 15 years back when good power was expensive lol but coming back to my hobby I saw an add for SKAR audio products about 4 years ago I have a rp 1500 on a evld2 that is being broke in as we speak I had the ddxd2 and after 2 years of non stop abuse it gave up on me but I'm witcha bro all there shit is bomb diggity my wife runs there stuff too I love when she turns it up she smiles lol but yeah even my evl moves a ton of air awesome products keep it up SKAR and thank you for the truth video for the non believers 😂

I just threw in my 1200 amp shallow dual 12in subs on a 2000 amp sub and just breaking them in they will take 3/4 of the amp no problem
