    I rode this line first with 45 104 "Royal Warwickshire Fusiliers" from PADDINGTON platform 0 (Royal Mail platform) to Uckfield, and beyond ! Then with 205 / 207s. Then with 171s. Bashing went steadily downhill....

    Good evening, it is not yet entirely clear to me whether those old electric block systems (Absolute block system, if I am not mistaken) with a wooden case were or were not influenced by the passage of trains for the purpose of occupying and freeing the section (block) towards to which and from which the train was respectively headed or from which the train came. Furthermore, it is not clear whether there is an electrical connection between the lever that controls the opening of the starting signal and the apparatus with wooden case. In other words, was it possible to pull the lever that activated the starting signal towards you without first having received electrical consent from the next station? However, it is common ground that where there is a token block it is possible to activate the lever that opens the starting signal even before having handed over the token to the driver, unless there is an error on my part. Thank you very much for your availability and collaboration

    I needed to know why don’t dig a tunnel and do an extension for the main line Train so that they can extend the unused abandoned underground stations. Why couldn’t they use the part D78 Stock train doors on the sides and also restructure the front face of the A60 and A62 stock and that includes the class 313, class 314 and class 315 remix and make them all together and also redesign them an overhead line and also make them into Five cars per units and also having three Disabled Toilets on those Five cars per units A60 and A62 stock trains and also convert the A60 and A62 stock trains into a Scania N112, Volvo TD102KF, Volvo B10M, Gardner 6LXB, Gardner 6LXC and Gardner 8LXB Diesel Engines and also put the Loud 7-Speed Voith Gearboxes even Loud 8-Speed Leyland Hydra cyclic Gearboxes in the A60 and A62 stock, class 313, class 314, and class 315 and also modernise the A60 and A62 stock and make it into an 11 car per unit so it could have fewer doors, more tables, computers and mobile phone chargers. A Stock Train and 8 Disabled Toilets on those A stock trains. why couldn’t we refurbish and modernise the waterloo and city line Triple-Track train tunnel and make it bigger and extend it to the bank station, making it into a Triple-Track Railway Line so those 4 European countries such as Germany, Italy, Poland And Sweden to convert the waterloo and city line Triple-Track Train tunnel into a High-Speed train? The Third Euro tunnel Triple-Track Train line to make it 11 times better for passengers so they could go from A to B. then put the modernised 11 car per unit A Stock and put them on a bigger modernised waterloo and city line Triple-Track train tunnel so it could go to bank station to those 4 European countries such as Germany, Italy, Poland And Sweden. The modernised refurbished 11 cars per unit A stock could be a High Speed The Third Triple-Track Euro Tunnel Train So it is promising and 37 times a lot more possible to do this kind of project that is OK for London Germany, Italy, Poland And Sweden? oh by the way, could they also tunnel the Triple-Track Railway Line so it will stop from Buckinghamshire, Hertfordshire and Essex so that the Passengers will go to Germany, Italy, Poland and Sweden and also extend the Triple-Track Railway Line from Bank to Buckinghamshire, Hertfordshire and Essex Stations so that more people from there could go to Germany, Italy, Poland And Sweden Easily. Why couldn't they extend the Piccadilly line and also build brand-new underground train stations so it could go even further right up to Clapton, Wood Street and also make another brand new tunnel train station in Chingford and could they extend the DLR? All of the classes 150, 155, 154, 117, 114, 105, and 106, will be replaced by all of the Scania N112, Volvo TD102KF, Volvo B10M, Gardner 6LXB, Gardner 6LXC and Gardner 8LXB Diesel Five carriages three disabled toilets are air conditioning trains including Highams Park for extended roots which is the Piccadilly line and the DLR trains. Could you also convert all of the 1973 stock trains into an air-conditioned maximum speed 78 km/hours (48 MPH) re-refurbished and make it into a 8 cars per unit if that will be alright, and also extend all of the Piccadilly train stations to make more space for all of the extended 8 car per unit 1973 stock air condition trains and can you also build another Mayflower and Tornado Steam Locomotive Companies and they can order Every 17 Octagon and Hexagon shape LNER diagram unique small no.13 and unique minor no.11 Boilers from those Countries such as Greece, Italy, Poland, and Sweden, can they make Mayflower and Tornado Steam Locomotive speeds by up to 117MPH so you can try and test it on the Original Mainline so it will be much more safer for the Passengers to enjoy the 117MPH speed Limit only for HS2 and Channel Tunnel mainline services, if they needed 16 Carriages Per units can they use those class 55’s, class 44’s, class 40’s and class 43HST Diesel Locomotive’s right at the Back of those 18 Carriages Per Units so they can take over at the Back to let those Mayflower and Tornado Steam Locomotive’s have a rest for those interesting Journeys Please!!!!!!!, oh can you make all of those Coal Boxes’s 16 Tonnes for all of the 117MPH Mayflower and Tornado Steam Locomotive’s so the Companies will Understand us PASSENGER’S!!! so please make sure that the Builders can do as they are Told!! And please do something about these very important Professional ideas Please Prime Minister of England, the Prime Minister of Sweden, the Prime Minister of Germany, the Prime Minister of Italy, the Prime Minister of Poland and that Includes the Mayor of London.

      it makes doubly sure that facing points can't shift under a train, such that the switch blade is halfway between positions, derailing the train, or part of the train ends up on another track. Equivalent to clamping the points when using a ground frame.

    Such a shame the whole lot's been turned into a computer clerk controlled abomination with the end goal of one signalling centre in Euston controlling the whole network and the end of the signalman. Closest me father worked to Horsham was Purley/Purley Oaks when he was reliefing out of Norwood or Gloucs Rd Jnc, he left BR in the 90's attaining the most passes out on the SR ending his journey at London Bridge PB and started his journey down the line at North Kent East Jnc... all gone, even LB has gone superceded by computers and I remember Tooley Street box as a nipper but the old man wasn't grade enough to work there.

    Looks even worse than when I was a kid thrashing through on Class 50's, back in the 80's there wasn't so many trees and the down platform was more visible. I understand the platform bridge has been demolished due to it being dangerous. also nobody lives or works from the station building anymore, as recent as the early 1990's there was somebody living there, but I see the platform has been cleaned since those days.

    This line was the Southern equivalent of my local line back in the late '70s and '80's. My local line at the time was the Chiltern line. The sense of abandonment on this line is just like the Marylebone lines before privatisation.

      It's brilliant to see the units back at Eridge once again. Did you drive them on the Tunbridge Wells West route too, or had that already closed?

    • @edforcer1340
      @edforcer1340 Před 8 lety

      Wells West line had closed to Passengers in 1985 but, due to the unique way BR was funded, there was still a train held in the Up Bay at Eridge when I was first there in '87. If memory serves, it only went to Groombridge. Norwood MT (my depot) rarely strayed off of the South Central for passenger workings but freight and ballast workings took us elsewhere at times.

      Thanks very much for your comment. I spent a lot of time down there, as you can tell, but it was worth it. Great trains with such character. I'm sure you really enjoyed driving them! The line will never be the same now they've gone, but luckily so many are preserved of course.

    • @edforcer1340
      @edforcer1340 Před 8 lety

      Signalman .CBP Indeed, with the Spa Valley opening they look and sound better than when we had them as workhorses, as does Eridge station. I've lost count of the amount of photographers on the Uckfield branch in the 1990s, getting last images for posterity. Fortunately I've not seen myself yet!
