Looks beautiful.
One of the best videos I’ve ever seen
👍
I am looking forward to September when the temperature will warm up to 21-24°C during the day in my area,I can't say the same for Melbourne in Victoria which is still forecasted winter temperatures in the low to mid teens °C wise. In another few weeks I will drag my cassava plants out from underneath the house so that they can grow again, next year in the ground they grow !
Last September, Melbourne had its warmest start to spring in decades, averaging 20C, 3C above average. Let's see how it goes this year. Unfortunately, cassava doesn't survive our winters, nor does pigeon pea.
How nice, hate Melbourne winter, it’s so fricken cold 🥶 🥶🥶 everyone is sick & tired of this cold
It's been cooler than normal up here, but warm enough for us. The locals are freezing with 23C, dressed in puffer jackets and jeans! They have lost touch with reality, LOL 😆
@@reallifefuntopia8273 so funny 😆 freezing with 23 degrees Lol 😂 Thank you for showing us around 🙏
Certainly an impressive selection of pools, AND of course the mangoes 👍
We'll definitely be back.
Will you guys be coming to Rusty's tomorrow?
It depends if it rains as it's been unstable like Melbourne but without the cold.
Great video ❤
Glad you liked it!!
Your farm cove so beautiful..peaceful ❤
Thank you!
@@reallifefuntopia8273our pleaaure😊
Darwin is the way to go when Winter hits Cairns, it still is a Summer-Like Winter in Darwin, Sunny & Hot.
It's the best city for winter sun, but Darwin requires extra long flights and higher costs for everything.
We had a nice sunny day here in the Newcastle area in NSW but it was only something like 14°C during the day,so we've had a few days of only 13-15°C days but we're forecasted to have a few 20-21°C which are sunny as well so I am looking forward to those. I can't wait until September when spring 🌼 is here & we have a few 21-23°C days meaning that I can't wait until winter is over !
Your weather sounds not much warmer than Melbourne's day temperatures, I'm so glad to be away from the nasty cold. Up here in FNQ, the persistant cloudy skies combined with gusty winds have gotten in the way of our tropical beach getaway, but it's always above 22C. Sun sensitive locals might appreciate the relief, but it gets boring for us sun chasers!!
Great to see sunshine back again 👍
It sure is, but the rain returned again the following day. Looks like I'll be choosing Darwin for our stay next July.
Plam cove has changed for worst,i lived there in 1983/87 was a very sleepy area, cairns was just starting to expand.Once it started getting tourist busy in winter season,i moved north to Cooktown much more friendly.,less tourist or no Mexicom from Melbourne.
We like travelling over the cooler months as variety is the spice of life that gives it all its flavour.
Wow trouble in paradise lol. I think I could suffer it 😂. What a fabulous place to be even on a cloudy day
It's a nice relief from the hot sun for the locals. If Kim and I retired here, I'm sure we'd be swimming at this beach every day in winter and in the pool during stinger season.
Thanks for showing us this video! What was the sea temp? Let’s consider that Palm Cove has got to be one of the windiest spots of Cairns / Northern Beaches (at any given time). Palm Cove sometimes feels cold enough to wear a jumper even on a Sunny Winter Day. Definitely Cairns does not feel Tropical at the moment compared to other Tropical cities in Australia and around the World (Winter Places). I believe there’s “Tropical” & “True Tropical”. With that wind chill, it must have been felt cooler than the actual air temp. I’m in Brissy, here currently max between 20-22C but 100% Sunny and no gusty winds, feels warmer under the sun and cooler in the shade.
Water temperature is 24C, which is almost 10C warmer than our swimming beaches at home. Not a single local or caravanner ever seen swimming, only tourists and backpackers! Cairns is definitely within the true tropics as durian and cacoa can grow there without any cold protection in winter.
Looks amazing 😊Thank you 🙏, so fresh & high quality 👍
Glad you like it!
Could you tell us what is the # of the bus 🚌 as I am from Melbourne 😊

Sorry about that. The market is big with so much on display, so I tried to squeeze in as much as possible in a short video. I have longer videos from the same market that are slower. Thanks for watching 🌈

Thank you Kim and George. Great tour.
Thanks for joining and watching both channels! Cairns gardens alone are worth the trip!
I'm guessing the pink flowers that looked a bit like papaya flowers in the conservatory were maybe Medinilla Magnifica ? Beautiful surroundings there
You may be right on the plant name, Brett. We both adore the gardens and Edge Hill.
Video is good 👍 not the fruit 😮
A good Cempedak, like the one in this video, is sweeter and tastier than a Greek grandma's galaktoboureko without the animal secretions. It's truly sad that most people in the world will never try one.
No suger problemos??
Sugar is life! Dairy and red meat are the real problemos.
I wish I had noticed no one was swimming before I charged in and got totally covered in jellyfish stings.😢
Ouch!
Hi Kim, George, the way you eat, you don't nid vitamins that are healthy ..
We overdose on fruit each day, potatoes rice and beans at night. Vegan power!!
My grandmother on my dads side used to grow orchids in a shade house near Mullumbimby in New South Wales, she used to show them at the Orchid shows which she used to go to at Lismore. So they grow in a 10b cold hardiness zone let alone zone 11 which is what zone Cairns is in, well, after my grandfather died in 2017 & my grandmother was also living in the nursing home that he died at & she eventually did last year my cousin who lives 3 houses down from their old house took most of them back to his house where they all died because he left them out in the hot sun,my point is that he should've at least put them underneath a tree so that they wouldn't get cooked. My dad took what was left back home with him to the Newcastle area where we live & he does have a king Orchid which grows beautiful flowers during the warmer months, so they will grow in a 10b zone which is zone my area is in. I have some self sown Crows nest ferns which spores came from old leaves that my dad put up the backyard to incinerate, the spores blew onto some brick work which gets moist & I transplanted them into pots,he brought the original ferns back from the far north coast of New South Wales many years ago. So,I do want to grow orchids as well, they need to be planted in a semi shaded area but,my dad has his king orchids growing in a shaded spot in the garden as well. Next Thursday we're forecasted to get a 23°C day in our area but the nights will still be at about 8°C, we live near the Barrington Tops which is a part of the Great dividing range, they got a light dusting of snow this week &; there has been snow at the snowy mountains as well obviously, the cold winds have been blowing off those mountains & we've been getting 13-14°C days this month. It was forecasted at 16°C yesterday but the wind chill made it feel like it was 13°C !
Lucky for you in Zone 10. I'm in 9B, with at least 5 months of single digit nights. No orchids for me.
Hi Kim, come to Mel, nice weather 😲

Hey guys, you may have been here already but if not we've found Rendezvous-Du-Vietnam in cairns has some tasty vegan food 🙂
Thanks for sharing! We have been and tried their vegan menu. Absolutely best Vietnamese in Cairns!
Enjoy guys, looks fabulous there as usual
Thanks, Brett! 👍
That's if you can find a partner whose a vegan like you have done & not one of them who doesn't know that I eat a lot of fruit because her vegan snacks consisted of just eating doughnuts which is an unhealthy choice of food. I mean,I am not just one of them whose a Bee who just was buying that stuff before she went to jail, there's more of her side in my area whose a Heard whose a Green who doesn't get my grocery shopping either so none of them would support me in my area. There's a younger sort of woman who is after me whose none of them but I don't think that she's a vegan, she had an argument with that one of her whose a Heard who works at Woolies last Friday afternoon because thet one who actually works there thought that she would get me when she won't. Every time I shop there one of them is closed !
There are literally hundreds of single female vegans within 2 hours of you who might be your match. Joing a vegan meetup group on Facebook in your city and state!
I know,I am not looking forward to a cloudy 13°C day this Tuesday in the Newcastle area in New South Wales, we've had some fine 16-17°C days but then we get more rain this week as well. I am looking forward to about mid to late September when the days warm up to around 22°C during the day,by October I look forward to the 26-27°C days. I mentioned how horrible Melbournes weather can get in even October when it was a nice 26°C day at the Newcastle airport then I froze my butt off when I arrived at the Tullamarine airport near Melbourne which was a chilly 13°C afternoon so I don't blame you for wanting to fly to Cairns after arriving home from Malaysia !
Melbourne's winters are fine if you are padded up and have the heating constantly running, but its a 5 MONTH long winter, not just 6-8 weeks like in SEQ. Brrrrr!!
This far up the north Queensland coast is what the locals call, ''Winter In The Tropics.''
We love it!
Be happy 😊 be safe 😊!!!
Where is this ?
Cairns, Queensland Australia
@@reallifefuntopia8273 I’ve been there and to Port Douglas too . Beautiful place is Cairns but my favourite place in Oz is beautiful Darwin . Been there six or seven times and never get tired of Darwin . You’re right it’s freezing down south. Cheers and have a safe holiday .
We were in Darwin in May, love the extra heat, but it's also the most expensive capital to fly to and stay at. Thanks for sharing! 👍
@@reallifefuntopia8273 I’m lucky I have my daughter and her family living in Darwin .

Another fabulous meal 👍
Cairns is Heaven on Earth to me . Especially love Rusty's market! Fruit and veg paradise 💚
It really is!
They call Jackfruit Nangka in Indonesia as well. My Orange Cempedak plant is surviving winter in my greenhouse quite well now at nights which are down to 5°C in temperature !
Looks beautiful 😍 so clean & new 👍
Hello Kim oo if we only had this in Springvale in Melbourne all my dreams would came true it will be mayhem people will be everywhere going crazy over durians absolutely crazy that’s why if l had a farm up far North Queensland l will be growing durians every were that’s the biggest craze and super food for the future generations to come ,if the Europeans or people who haven’t seen or hear of this fruit of the Gods and the taste this for the first time they will get hooked on it it is like a drug you have to have it do you know why because it’s got the highest source of triphtophane in any fruit in the world it’s a relaxing agent cheers Kim from Eddie the wild jungle fruit hunter ❤🎉😊
That would be a dream.
Hello George my Melbourne friend how much was the black thorn per kilo not the whole fruit and also how much was musang king too remember l payed $300 dollars for one black thorn when the first came to Melbourne and Sydney Australia at $88 dollars a kilo at market place in Dandenong shopping centre next to coles supermarket that was probably about 6,7,8 roughly years ago that’s a record price in Melbourne the one with the orange netting and orange bow tie around it that was so special l will even show you the photos too cheers mate from Eddie the wild jungle fruit hunter ❤😊🎉
We paid $32 Singapore Dollars per Kg for whole Black Thorn. The one we ate in the video was $54 Singapore Dollars.
