Is there a difference in accuracy if you use an ultra wide angle vs a normal angle lens?
The wide angle lens has more distortion than the normal angle lens. In testing, it had small effects on the angles, but a larger effect on the distance measurements. While the errors are acceptable, the normal angle lens is more accurate. So if you have room, then you should probably use the normal angle lens. If you are space constrained, then use the wide angle lens. Another consideration is when using the wide angle lens for a front profile recording, you have to be very careful to ensure that the knees and toes are visible throughout the pedal stroke. This is especially a problem with mountain bikes as the tire and shocks can block the feet entirely when the camera is close to the front of the bike. The AI algorithm tries to guess the position of the foot, but being able to visually track it the accuracy is drastically impacted.
@@bikefastfit Is it possible to use an Ipad and Iphone at te same time. Will the video's sync on both devices? or do you need to send them to each other?
Yes, you can load the software on all of your devices (that share the same Apple ID) and the app uses iCloud to automatically sync the video and data across all the devices.

This is a great app, and V2 is a god send not having to put those wee dots on 😊 Does it matter what lens you use on the phone or is it best to stick to the standard lens ?
Thanks, I'm glad you are enjoying the new version. If you can stick to the standard lens you will get the best accuracy. There are some distortions with the wide angle lens, but acceptable if that is your only option.
Great product, I just purchased the EZ version but I’m wondering if the Elite version if one pay only or requires yearly pay.

Many of us cant use this because there is no Android version. Wish this was stated upfront somewhere.

Hello! Is the app able to analyze and give recommendation for a triathlon position?
It doesn't give specific recommendations as so much of the upper body positioning is based on your goals, flexibility, etc. It does give you clear indications where you are at from a positioning standpoint and lets you virtually move your hand position and see the impacts before changing stems.

This video is actually for the entry level product, BFF EZ which is currently a $4.99 / yr subscription, but I am going to change to a one time fee. The more BFF Elite product is the full featured app that includes more measurements and views. It is a one-time $19.99 fee.
Amazing app, I want to know what specifications are used when recording videos, 4k60fps? I think we should need an environment with good lighting to increase recording accuracy. If the image quality is reduced in a dark environment, it may reduce recognition accuracy
Thanks. The app is using 1080p at the highest speed possible, usually 240fps. The higher frame rate is actually more important than the higher resolution to capture the moment of maximum knee extension. The AI models have been trained on plenty of very badly lit videos, but good lighting does help to ensure the best accuracy. Especially if the rider is wearing dark clothes against a dark background.

Great app. Used it years ago which helped me tremendously. I just re-downloaded and have two questions/clarification for the new version (Elite). 1: do you still need coloured dots - would it help with greater precision if you used them? 2. Seems like aligning the camera to bike orientation does not need to be too precise (for example the demo shows the virtual chainring guide positioning wasn't exactly centred on the actual chainring)? thanks
Thanks! The new version 2 of BFF Elite uses markerless tracking similar to the technology in BFF EZ. Adding markers does not help with precision, but ensuring adequate lighting and contrast with the background helps greatly. The alignment doesn't have to be too precise, the critical thing is to ensure you are positioning the camera at the right height with as little rotation to minimize positional errors.
I love this app. It is truly revolutionary. I was not too far off from the recommended saddle height, but I noticed a difference by just putting my seat 1/4” down and 1/2” backward, and it only cost $20. The good thing is that you can use it on unlimited bikes. My family and I will be using this for all of our bikes.

Hi Steven, yes, the video is still there, just go to the Fitting menu in the upper left corner and select the video to analyze.
what is the axle to axle length? how to measure it?
The axle to axle length is the distance between the axle of the front wheel and the axle of the back wheel. The distance is used to calibrate the video and calculate distances. If you are something like a smart bike that doesn't have axles, choose two points that are easily identifiable and measure that. Then go into the calibration page in the video information and manually select those points.
Where are the settings of the app? Where can i set measurement of my bike ?
Looks like a great app. I'm looking forward to using it on both my smart bike and my new mountain bike. Also, the app is very reasonably priced especially when compared to a different service that looks like it does the same thing.

No Android version is a disappointment. Looks like an amazing app. Why not have a version people could just use with a laptop online? Upload a video and go from there.

I think the hardest part would be identifying, locating and properly placing the dot on the correct body spots . To me that would the tricky part .
Yes, the accuracy of the measurements depend on finding the right spots for the stickers, but with a little care it isn't too hard.
Hello 👋, so if purchasing any one of the two apps is not an issue, which one of the two should I purchase ? I am learning ( You Tube , books etc .. ) how to fit properly myself and my wife’s bikes . This would be another great tool to have in my toolbox . Already have a goniometer , plumb , level , torque wrenches etc.. etc lol .. My personal deduction of different types of methods out there , is that it’s not just only one, it is the integration of several methods that will or could give you a better picture of that fit or position that the rider is looking for in a safely way . One method verifies the other and the other verifies the one behind . Always learning new things .. Which one do You recommend getting ?
If you want a full featured bike fitting app, then go with BFF Elite. It has a complete set of tools for looking at all of the angles. The downside is a little more complex set up as you will need to place dots on your body for the app to track it accurately. BFF EZ is currently focused solely on the saddle height (but more to come later this year).
are we able to record more than 3 seconds ?
To balance analysis time and storage space while providing enough pedal strokes, BFF Elite limits videos to 3.5 seconds. At 240 fps that is over 800 frames to analyze and should give 3-4 complete revolutions of the pedal stroke.
is this angle scale affected when you are moving saddle fore / aft ? Or it’s working for heigh only

Could you provide detailed instructions re: dot placement and fitting from the forward view? For both upper and lower extremities (for varus or valgus angulation)?

I have the elite version on IOS and it’s been great. The UI is the same for me as the video and I haven’t seen any upgrade messages, so I’m not sure what issues some of the other commentators are having.
This app is PHENOMENAL. I am so grateful that you made it. Im just getting into it as of last night so I am still learning the UI but I do have one question regarding the stickers. I bought some of the circular ones from Walmart and they just don't stick very well in certain spots like my hip (bibs on) and my wrist (hair). Any recommendations on making them stay put? I'm thinking elmers glue lol... Thank you again, I've had severe pain develop on my road bike and after using the app last night I realized my max knee angle is only 130 degrees!

Can I fit a Time trial bike in tue elite app?
I just downloaded your app. I somehow feel the entire User interface has changed. There is no + button at the bottom to start a new project, all I see is a camera that takes me straight to recording. I do not see the gauge meter in the bottom left side of the screen to assess the correction. Do I have to download the pro version as well to get these things? I’ve only purchased the app, I did not know I have to further purchase after installing the app
@@XtrastorTech I too had the same issues, I contacted the developer .. he told me that I had downloaded the lite version and that there was a new version that had to be installed, he sent me an upgrade code to unlock all the settings. But I noticed recently that it’s back to the lite version. I’ve given up

Sorry, there is only an iOS version. We have limited development resources and have chosen to keep enhancing the iOS version rather that developing for multiple platforms.

Is it only available on "app" on the iphone/ipad or is there a software version on a desktop? That would be great to record the video with the phone, then be able to import the video in the software and work with a mouse on a desktop.
Currently it is only an iOS app, but we are looking at the making a Mac OS version for the desktop.
Bike Fast Fit That's a really great news!! Your pro app is just perfect, but it would be so much usefull on a real screen of a desktop. Yes there is kinovea, but only for pc users and bikefastfit pro is much better than kinovea. I really hope we could have a mac os version soon!
