Wonderful! And iIt's one of the very early 1300 models, just before the MG (in UK at least) went to 2-door and 70bhp power-unit.
Lovely, but do such cars make you a prisoner to their mileage?
Dates will be on tyres
There’s a lot of expert work gone into that. One odd looking thing though, is the rear wheel looks rather forward in the arch, like the axle has been moved.
Heck of a lot of powerful luxury ride, right there
...and post the XJ X351 model - look at Jaguar now - most of their models now should not bear the Jaguar name.
Beautifully presented. Looks like SORN unused. Do we know if it has an MOT and when the sale date. Thanks.
Need to buy this one. Wonder if way way over 8k now. A nice one maybe dipped 3 to 5k ?? Cannot quite remember
That will be a 2.7
Also existed as a 2.5 v6
@@Lonewolf-kw8gg I thought the face-lift 800 V6 was 2.7
@@stuarthowarth2972 Also in facelift it was available with the 2.5 kv6
winner 💯💪🏻
The panel gaps aren’t good .
A nice looking sample, but check the MOT history.
Sills. Famed for it. Water collects behind the arch liner. It sounds like they've been done, but how well?
@@andycampbell4102 I would keep way from this one, even if they have been done correctly once the rot sets in, it can resurface a few years later,.
she is proper clean like 🔥💯💪🏻
Lovely looking motor i bet she can move when it's pushed 😊❤
Golf’s overrated! 205gti anyday
Peugeot 205gti ❤❤❤
Wonderful !. Certainly a car to use. Sometimes it’s a shame that they are mothballed for very long periods.
Fantastic little machine.
Wow, stunning.
Shouldn't it be twin carburettors?
Mk1 came with single carb
Lovely car -- becoming rare now due to the cost and difficulty of restoring them due to that complex front bulkhead and subframe.
All very nice but how much is it?
We are an auction house. The Daimler goes to auction on the 20th of July.
@@wbsons9956 yes I realise it's going through an auction room but there must be a reserve that you could have mentioned
Estimate 14k - 18k
That's 25k pounds worth of car right there
Wonderful car & example - had one, but a TC twin carb version, same colour and age as a 'fun; second car 25 years ago - really excellent, nice driving well balanced and handling car - now very rare indeed
Someone is in for a treat. Almost sacrilege to put miles on it. Love that colour.
Old English White - looks creamy/yellow in these photo/film conditions - what a superb car and very rare indeed
What colour is it? White or yellow? I can't tell.
1:03 You look as though you're *VERY CLOSE,* to knocking that trophy over and smashing it to pieces on the hard floor with how you're gesturing with your arm. Please can you be sure NOT to be "clever" or careless, whilst doing what it was that you were doing during this video please? It's unnecessarily unnerving, and is a sign of a person being generally accident prone. I'd prefer to buy the car with EVERYTHING safely in tact, and not hear that an irritating act of thoughtlessness led to the experience being unnecessarily marred. It lowers the tone of the overall buying experience.
Did you buy it?
Yes please . Simply gorgeous. Now that I’m 50, I could possibly say I’m old enough to drive one of these ….😀😀😀
👍👍
Exceptional example - end of !
It's valuation is highly subjective. Has to be the best in the world.
Yes, surely.
🤯WOW
Just WOW!
i used to have an 850 estate in same colour...........i just came to listen to the engine sound :)) .............. beautiful car to drive
where i worked in 1987 - a company rep came to there with his brand new Daimler same as this one.....he was a good guy and even let me sit in driver seat........id just bought a volvo 480 the previous month which id let him sit in :)
Very nice to see!
Its an early 164 so most likely without power steering. Can you retro fit power steering to these?
This car is just stunning. Period. that Olive green is a perfect British color on this car. In the USA, where i live, the Diamler trim level wasn't offered but was the Jaguar equivilent of the Vanden Plas trim level. Different grille, trunk chrome lock piece, picnic tables on the back of the front seats and much more. I have always loved the XJ40 body style as nothing else looks like it on the road. Even back in 1988 when this car was released in the USA, it was always a beauty. Whoever stored this car for all those years preserved it in near dealer showroom condition. Hope it finds a new home who will cherish it.
Love that.
Must be a date mark on the tyres?
Very smart nice unusual colour 👍 ❤😊
These push rod engine Volvo models much more teliable than later models
Started working for ray chapman Volvo in 1973 worked on them regularly
I use to own a 3.0 litre S about 35 year's ago sound lovely but they are thirsty little bugger's.
This takes me way back - very well-preserved
born in Germany 🇩🇪 raised in South Africa 🇿🇦
This would be hard not to love. It is beautiful. A credit to the owner and restorers.
Given the body mods, I would be inclined to put a miata engine/gearbox in it. Although, the standard 1500 is lovely too.
Just nice subtle body mods. Very nice!
