Cool ensemble
Thank you very much, Laura.
Sounds smooth 🔥🔥🔥.... What instrument is that in the middle?
Thanks! It's an EVI. Electronic Valve Instrument.
@@tritoneasylum4154 That's cool... I've never heard of it. I'll make a video about one on my Channel. Can I use a clip of this video?
@@its_zionthelion I'll need to ask my co-lead who is the EVI player. I'll get back with you.
@@tritoneasylum4154 okay... Thank you. If not its okay tho
This really came out great. Excellent song and performance. Thank you for entrusting me with the mixing and mastering.
The "thanks" go to you, Maurice...
This is lovely, many thanks for sharing!!!
Thanks for listening!
Always love music featuring EWI/EVI. Thanks again
Thanks for listening, Patrick.
Nice sound out of that EVI
What synth do you prefer to use with the NuEVI
The Synth I'm use is a Roland Sonic Cell loaded with Matt Traum's custom designed patches. I got the unit from his Patchman Music website with custom patches preloaded on the unit. The sound on this recording is #203 "Judd 2010."
Just, an additional note, in the video you can see a Evolver (Dave Smith Instruments) on the floor I did not use it on the recording, the Sonic Cell is on a music stand mount. I experimented with the Evolver for a while but didn't bond with it. The Sonic Cell with the Patchman sound patches seems to work the best for me. I really know the sounds, and it is versatile in the variety of sounds it has. Plus it is reliable & user friendly.
Absolutely Fantastic! Thank You !!!
The thanks go to you...

Wonderful!!!! Love this so much!
Thank you so much for your kind words....Peter, Bass, TriTone Asylum
I first heard TriTone Asylum at the baked potato when I travelled to LA from Australia in Feb 2019. As a trumpet/EWI player it was so great to see a band with such a player leading the band and playing original fusion tunes. Amazing to watch and hear studio recordings 🙏 keep em coming.
Thank you very much Patrick! I'm sure Phil will be very grateful to read this....Peter Sepsis, Bass, The Asylum.
A man named Peter Sprague has a vocal version of this song & a female singer named Rebecca Jade who sings it! Peter Sprague is a guitarist. Just like Herbie Hancock's 1974 hit/instrumental song Butterfly in the early eighties lyrics were added & singers like Gretchen Parlato sings the lyrical version. Pat Metheney wrote this song in 1989 & I remember hearing it on a smooth jazz station WLVE in south Florida in the nineties. Bring back the smooth jazz stations!!
Nice!! Nice Westvile 2 !!
Thank you!
Nice!
Thanks Barry....
Very cool, Phil!
Glad you like it. I miss the old days of playing trumpet with you :) Hope all is well with you.
@@tritoneasylum4154 Yes, I do miss the old days, hanging out, practicing together, listening to Jazz and Cafe Max (I still put honey in my coffee to this day!). Great memories! ☕😃🎺
Had the pleasure of seeing this performed beautifully by the band live a couple of weeks ago at the same location as the video. They were amazing! This piece evokes Eberhard Weber in the Colours period. It's got a moody and soulful ECM records sound to it.
Thank you very much Scott! This is Phil's tune. i'll make sure he see's this. And thank you so much for coming to the Baked Potato show. Your support is greatly appreciated. if you want to join our mailing list, please send us a note at contactus@tritoneasylum.com. Peter Sepsis, bass....
Great Recording!
Wowwww that was great!!!!!! Just spent the morning listening to herbie Hancock and led us to this. Glad it did we loved it. You guys are great!
Thank you very much. We're glad to know you like this rendition!
🙂🍀
Dave Johnstone holdin' it down like MAD!!!
sax solo doesn't mean everybody should go nuts and show off, what ever happened to accompanying the soloist?
