You should NOT leave a martingale collar on him all day long! It’s dangerous. It could get caught on something; your greyhound struggles and gets strangled. It should only be used when walking your greyhound. Your greyhound should not be tied to a post wearing a martingale; not that you did it but I often see it; unless it’s for a quick photo snap. Use house collars when not on walks. You may not like me telling you this but better alive than dead. In one of the FB groups, a couple posted on how they had their grey on an adjustable lead, the long expandable ones and he ran forward and ended up dead. They never described exactly what happened. So please listen. I love greys and don’t want yours injured. Not criticising you.

It’s sad to see the white greyhound have all that muscle mass and it will quickly loose it since it isnt racing anymore

I am thinking of getting a grey hound and we have a large cottage property. People say I should not let the dog off the leash because he will run away. Does this really depend on the Greyhound? We have another dog there who has learned the property boundaries.
