Absolutely superb job lads 👏🏻👍🏻. That’s one stunning rebuild to the highest standard 👍🏻. Would have been nice to hear it running as that engine is one of the greats by Honda.

I hate it. Was the owner of an -86 Japanese import Fzr400R and thats exactly how they should be: An -86. Only an unrestored survivor will make me pay up to own one again.

Ok it turns fine but the turns were all open. The boxer engine gives the bike a low center of gravity which also helps with cornering.
Yes the low centre of gravity makes it a very easy bike to ride.
Why this ugly steering wheel? It's not pretty, it doesn't help cornering at all, you force the driver to always be in an upright position with his arms hanging down. Now you're going to tell me did this screw you up? On Harleys, the handlebars are over a meter long. This is America, the land of insanity.

@@MarkReynoldsRestorations As a resident of a European country, tall handlebars are strange to us. Unlike America in Europe when we want to enjoy a trip we always prefer mountain ranges and there an upright driving position would make the trip painful. However, you made the bike with a lot of love without transforming it.
It wouldn't have been my choice but that's the original spec so I wanted to keep it original. It does actually ride quite nice. Check out the first road test video.

Nice. I bought a new 1978 Goldwing like this with the same color I added a color matched Windjammer fairing. The maroon seemed darker than this but hey that was 48 years ago. What an awesome ride. I rode chain drive for years and It took a little to get used to the drive shaft in corners. They said to accelerate through the corners and that will keep it from trying to fishtail.
This had the windjammer fairing on it but I decided to put it back to standard.
@@MarkReynoldsRestorations It looks good as out of the box original. I added the fairing as more for comfort than anything else.
