bulleton board pin in hole then tap the pin while it is in the hole worked for me after trying for a hour with the tray pin a safety pin and a paperclip.. Even tried to pry it open when one corner partially opened when using the tap tap method with the safety pin no go I bent the safety pin and tray pin !. this was for a lg neon plus.I had to tap it 3 or 4 times prettyhard before it opened .Not a fun experience.

Went to a phone case shop around the corner, since the apple store couldnt fix it for me. Guy opened up my phone and figured that there was something like some soda or other sticky drink in my phone that was causing it to be stuck. He cleaned it with rubbing alcohol and closed te phone, free of charge.

Just about ready to throw my iphone 6 out of the window trying to open the Sim tray!! Then wedged the tool into the hole and tapped it firmly on the desk and it popped open so thanks everyone. It can take quite a firm tap.

4S started not sending texts and said "no sim card" well I tried getting it out and struggled until if finally popped out. Really had to push hard. Tried the paperclip and switched to a turkey pin that you use to stick in to hold the string together before cooking. Had to hit it a few times. It works and the card re-inserted now is able to be read by the phone.

dude I just tried to get mine out and it won't budge, I got it out yesterday in preparation for my new phone but I can't get it out today I'm thinking that I have damaged the inside but hopefully not, please can I get some help?!

30 sec, u legends was just about to b*tch so hardcore to my seller.

I didnt use push pin. I dont even have anything pointy so I just use what ever I have in the kitchen. I use the round loop that hold my measuring spoons. I just straighten it and just poke that in the hold. give it a little push or abit hard, and it just pop out. lol

Triangular clip(26 mm) helped me 2 remove the sim tray...

friggin brutal man. tried everything for 30 minutes. pulling my hair out. then i tried the pushpin. one push and out. unreal.

a straightened paper clip didn't nothing so I used the post on my earring and it worked like a charm!

There is 2 effective ways for anyone looking for answers still. ! You will need a screw small enough for you to screw in hole....don't screw in to much and just pull it out. @. Instead of pushing pin straight in, try pushing it to each corner instead....sometimes the mechanism is bent to the side. Hope this helps :)

Thank you, Leyla ! The tapping with a hard object seemed risky AND it worked like a charm! So simple - saved a lot of heartache think I had a defective device.

I used an earring and it took me a good 30 minutes to try and open it. I almost gave up and was just going to go somewhere so they could take it out for me. It did't work at first because I was pushing to lightly. I thought I was pushing to hard but I wasn't. Don't be afraid to put a little more pressure on it. But not to much pressure....I don't think this makes sense but I hope this helps someone :)

Still can't accesses the sim! Somebody on another channel suggested to push a toothpick into the hole!

I pushed harder using the original 'key', also made sure i was pushing straight and not at an angle. When I used a bobby pin i was pressing waaaaaay too deep.

I was freaking out but I turned my iPad off applied some pressure (hard but not too hard) and it came out. Honestly the main fix is that the device should be off! Hope everything went well man!

It sounds ridiculous but tapping with a hard object like a stapler on the pin really works!

I just had this problem. Struggled with a safety pin and the ejector the phone comes with for about 20 mins. But I found cutting the end of a bobby pin and putting that in the hole, had the tray ejected in less than 10 seconds! Miracle :D

I used a thin sewing "pin" with a round head for middle-finger presure and this worked within 30 sec. Then I used a Rocket Blaster air syringe from a photo store that I use to clean the sensor on my DSLR camera. Time will tell if that helps. Will be putting a SIM from a new cellphone carrier into the iPhone 4s tomorrow. Thank you!

Nothing works for me. I can't open the IPad tray either... after spending more to get one that I can put a 3G Sim in so I can use it away from home.
