I have also went by his stream to say thank you, but I have no clue if its about this specific aim routine or the fact that I was doing aim training "in general" for 3 months straight once every day, but this is absolutely a reason I got to such heights both in ranked and scrimming against teams. E7A3 I peaked out at 592RR IMM3 with (at the time) 50% (or higher, apologies - I do not have memory lul) AVG HS rate (yes i specifically avoided shotguns, awps and overall bodyshots with all weapons i used, check the weapons tab for more info on that) Doing the aim training and focusing on only headshots in competitive play ended up not being very useful in the end because it did restrict me in usable weapons for example, but I'm glad I got to explore such a crazy way of playing the game, having many many matches where I was hitting 70% and higher headshot% which just sounds unreal now that I look back to that. I'm honestly kind of sad I did not record or stream any of it at the time because of my own focus on improving and trying to perfect all aspects of my gameplay (and also due to having a mid range pc it would always tank my fps by a considerable amount). Some interesting facts: - My avg KD did not suffer as much as you think it would (finished at 1.10) - My peak was about 300RR before, it was way back in Episode 5 aswell - I was always focusing on accuracy first and foremost, then speed came in almost naturally when I continued playing and training - I also hit my highest win streak of 13 games in a row, with 8-11 of them being on the same day. (sorry I kind of forgot how many but point is that I played multiple games a day) - Continuing the last brackets I wrote: I was always playing until the defeat game. Meaning I win 2 and lose 1 it means I play again tomorrow. This improved my focus by a LOT causing me to value every game and lead people to good mental and be proactive in callouts to eventually win so many matches a day that sometimes the defeat didn't even come and I had to get off because I needed to keep up my sleep schedule. FACTS OVER, BUUUT: Continuing on the sleep schedule and health part of playing so much of this game in 1 Act: I was going to bed at consistent times and waking up early 6-7am and begun the day with grinding the game for as long as I could before work would start for me. I also had decent physical pressure that got me to stay in shape which usually just consisted of going to work with a bike and the work itself requiring you to be physically active. This would help me a lot since I also have a big problem with energy drinks which are obviously very unhealthy, but helped me perform and stay focused for (sometimes) 6 hours straight and helped me get into what kind of felt like how people describe "flow state" (like how crazy is that?) I feel like some of my motivation came from truly wanting and chasing my dream of getting into a dedicated team and doing well for the sake of moving up the ladder, getting signed or just in general paid for my skillsets. But as good as I was at the time, I was still bad at understanding the game. I was overcompensating my lack of true in-game knowledge and how to play as a teammate and how to actually play my roles correctly. Not that I was completely out of touch with the meta or basic defaulting and stuff, but rather that I didn't know beyond that. I lost out in adaptability in terms of playing in a team of (mostly) rookies as myself and 1-2 very knowledgeable teammates who were trying to explain all of it to me so that I would become more reliable. I started to slowly get the hang of it but before I knew it, I was burning out from trying to do too much. Around here is also when the team disbanded and I was left with data to look at from us playing and mistakes to learn from. What I mostly understood, at least for now, aim should not be a top 1 priority when it comes to higher level play, if its "decent" its most certainly good enough past ascendant and you should rather focus on understanding the game properly, knowing what to look for in pro vods and having people around you that are 10x better than you at being a proper player who knows exactly what to do. Another important thing is that you shouldn't waste time on watching your own vods until you learn the basics of defaulting and what your role is and copying how your role is played at a tier 1 level. Before that your only mistakes are microscopic and hyperspecific which are simply not worth looking for and spending hours of your time on. You get so much more out of a pro vod than your own to the point of instantaneous diminishing returns. Hope you liked my ted talk. Thank you, Ethos! tracker.gg/valorant/profile/riot/kitkät%233623/overview?season=03dfd004-45d4-ebfd-ab0a-948ce780dac4
Here is how to aim like aspas: GET A PC THAT RUNS VAL SMOOTHLY AND WITH TIME YOU WILL GET GOOD. Sadly this is the toughest part for me
It feel really nice, but it won't make you that much better.
