Safin should have won that match against Clement and the tournament. That whole year, had he won those tough, best of three set matches, and the USO match against Haas and Wimby match against Gonzalez, he would have easily challenged for the top 10 and who knows what that sort of confidence would have given him for 2007 and beyond, pity.
