A WW2 jeep is an ECO FRIENDLY Vehicle (if it was 1995!)

The opportunity was there so I took it, VERY surprised! The 3.50% CO, 1200 HC PPM is 1986-1995 UK emissions MOT standard, a pre 1975 vehicle has no emissions standards requirements in the UK but I tested it anyway to find out

I have acquired a Trico S583 - 1 the same as the one on your jeep, mine is date 1943. My question is where can I get parts for it in the UK, Thanks
Loved RIMS with Caution Deflate The Tyre Before Removing The Rims
Thank You I have MB Willys 1942 Only the 6 Volt Battery Not Available 12 Volt replaced And sad Dynamo Self Starter Housing Delco Remy Regulator have to be replaced . Wiper Air Wiper from Manifold Quarter Ton But Market Vehicle 2.5 Ton with Bantam Trailer
The TM for the Carter tells you to put the idle well jet in first.
Well my rings are shot so I'm burning oil too fast to care
In early cj2as and later they fixed this problem by mounting the bell crank to the frame instead of the axel.
Are you okay?
Not the same but this is like the day I found out replacing the pvc valve in my car actually made a difference lol
I bet you can drive that jeep in the dark with night vision real good
I know it is not a sports car paint job, but I would be using fender covers on such a beautiful classic.
The dimmer switch was like that on vehicles of that era so no one probably thought of moving it so any GI can hope into it and it is familiar. As for the fire extinguisher being in the way, it was probably mandatory to have one and they was probably running out of room
Hang on....! .... so I've got to believe that you haven't opened up that Radio power supply unit until filming...?
I don't even own one but I still watch this. I would like to have one some day.
Love your videos. I've recently bought a Hotchkiss which is going to end up in WW2 spec and livery. In a round about way, this video has clearly defined what patina and authenticity actually are.
I think it's time for a new Jeep project, isn't it?
First time seeing a video under the hood of your classic. Weren’t the motors ford grey? Just asking as I’m restoring my 42 MB currently.
This is why you don’t turn your engine on and off in combat, even today. It’s a non issue.
Wonderful content!
I can confirm the Solex 32 pbic that came on the 46 Willys I just purchased had this stupid jet in place of the one way valve. I gave up on the Solex because the rebuild kit was on back order and the throttle shaft was quite worn. So I bought a new reproduction Carter W-O. Great work finding that!
Are you forgetting that the average age of the Jeep's operators was under 20 years old mate? I was just a bit over 60 kgs at that age and obviously as skinny as a toothpick.
Nicely done mate.
Thanks for having this on here Greendot. I’ve just had to take mine out - for the first time since the rebuild when I only had to install it on the chassis without a tub so was easy. If I’d tried it just relying on the manual - without the bellhousing - I’d never have got it out I think, and probably not in again. So very useful thanks.
Just bought a Hotchkiss M201. Loving the insight your videos give 👍🏻
Your knowledge is soooo helpful. Thanks 🇨🇦🍻👍
So fascinating I just love the tour and the history lesson Cheers mate USA!!
Interesting. I have a f134 but i just adjusted my valves and im getting same sound.
This vapor lock issue is happening everywhere to many with older cars with carburetors. It's the modern (Crap) Ethanol mixed fuel . Supposedly the boiling point of Ethanol fuel is far lower than None Ethanol fuel. I've also had the problem with my jeep for the last few years, it's been a head scratching journey.
Thanks for being so intelligent and meticulous in finding out the problem. This is a case of Lost In Translation from the French hands to the Indians. The original shop manual of M38 is accurate.
Beautiful vehicle. The jeep won the War for us?
my GPW is quite near yours 20735153 with SN 268350
I’ve got a similar pair of Henkels scissors!
Does anyone know the exact length of a jeep, without the bumpers and spare wheel attachment? basically the tub + the hood
As for the fire extinguisher, the original design for the MB had the extinguisher on the passenger side but later designs moved it to the drivers side to allow room for the enlarged glove box. Some the issues which were problematic with the WWII Jeeps were corrected with the M38 such as moving the drivers seat back 3 inches, with the gas filler out the side panel allowing the seat tobe permanently fixed to the vehicle. The extinguisher was also moved along with the pioneer kit to the passenger side...

Awesome. My carburetor started to overfill with gas the other month and I played with it to stop the flooding. Ever since then my plugs have been ashy

What is that beam of iron that you are leaning on? The metal bar sticking upright from the bumper in front there...is it to cut wires or? What is it for?
The grill points to it not being a Willy's Jeep, but a American build one is it?
Super interesting!
Where is your WWII wrist watch?
In the future you can put an ev motor and batteries 😊😊
Of course especially because you are a pretty big guy
What are the general prices of your different jeeps, and where did you purchase?
Use the butt of your riffle to press the dimmer switch 😊
I put a robertshaw high flow thermostat in my 3a huge improvement.
Not trusting anyone who doesn't know the difference between a grease gun and a lube chart.

I love jeeps. I have an '07 Wrangler, and man, these military jeeps you found were badass. I wish I had one, but I have no place to put it, and I'm not sure how much use I'd get out of it since you can't drive one on the freeway.
