If he doesn't believe in Polygamy, which prophet is a false prophet? Him ot Joseph Smith? Joseph Smith made it explicitly clear that God said that men can have multiple wives, virgins to be exact if they give the man permission. He also said that women can't have multiple husbands or it would be committing adultery.. he also says, well, he's saying God is saying that if a women (specifically Emma in the verse) isn't "ok" with her husband having multiple wives, God will damn her. What I'm also curious about is if he doesn't believe in plural marriages, does that mean he disagrees with God's plan of salvation and men having multiple wives in the next life? Men can be sealed to multiple wives, but only if they have passed away- meaning men will still practice Polygamy in the next life. The Bible talks about false prophets. I wonder if this is why......

The notion of Time and space is very different from one person to the other. We all perceive it differently. As for me I dont see time the same way than most people do. I see it as a whole and 10 years for me seems like one minute. Plus you can develop a strong connexion telepathic bond with someone even if they are not physically or geographicaly close to you (different neighborhood, not like in overseas) you can not see your soulmate for years but when you see him again it seems like you met them only yesterday

Such a wonderful man. I miss him a lot. I gave my son the middle name Hinckley hoping he can exemplify the humility and optimism of Gordon and his wife. Also, what missed opportunities asking him about politics and irrelevant stuff for so much of this interview. I’m sure he would’ve had a lot more to offer.

I generally don't really enjoy Star wars but this line and the whole story behind it is so good because it points to an unfortunate truth. I was in my mission in Hawai'i when this aired. My companion and I sat with one of the families we were teaching and watched this interview after enjoying a nice dinner with them. President Hinckley started a conversation that left a lot of people asking for missionaries. For those of other faiths and who have left the faith, I wanted to say that I met some families in Hawai'i with similar and unique situations like yours. In the end, faith is a personal choice to believe the words of the Savior Jesus Christ, to repent of our old ways, be baptized, and receive the gift of the Holy Ghost. What distinguishes our faith from others is our full reliance on the latter, the edification of our testimony of Christ through the Holy Ghost and our belief that God will answer all of our prayers. The LDS faith relies on the continuous and personal revelation from the Spirit. For whatever circumstance you are in, the prayer pattern above will genuinely direct you to receive the promptings of the Spirit. Whatever direction you receive, it is what you need at that time.

There must not have been much scientific input in the making of this movie. To consider love mysterious is just flat out naive. Love stems from the survival instinct. When you love someone you feel attracted to that person because they make you feel better capable of contributing to, and/or competing in the world because of them, enhancing your chances of success in the game of survival. Thus, it’s in the same category as food, water, and money as in the end it’s really all about the ultimate goal of survival, of ourselves and our species. And we don’t love dead people, we loved “past tense” them. Anyone who claims they love a dead person probably needs psychiatric help. Trying to make Cooper, the character who went strictly on science, seem wrong there was foolish, but what can one expect from movie makers who apparently don’t even know that space and time are the same thing, and who depicted humans surviving on a planet where one hour equals seven years, which in real life would be impossible. To try to portray love as some magical and mysterious force, superseding everything else in the universe, completely wrecked this movie in my view. And Murph thinking she was apparently more important than the entire world because of this was just plain stupid. This movie had potential, but I would have liked it much better if the message was more scientific, rather than naive, and touchy-feely.

“He who does not know love does not know God, for God is love” (John 4:8). I don't know if it was intentional, but the truth is that Anne Hathaway's quote is pure Christianity! Indeed, to the extent that we assume that God is love and that we assume that God is the creator of the universe, time, space and physics as a whole, it makes perfect sense to conclude that: 1- Love is a force that transcends the limits of time, space and human understanding itself. 2- Love is evidence or even an artifact of a dimension that we do not fully understand yet. In fact, translated into theological terms, love would be this philosophical evidence of the existence of heaven, the supernatural/spiritual world and the benevolent God who revealed himself to us. Of course, these conclusions and Hathaway's own statement are not scientific or testable, but one thing is undeniable: they carry an absurd theological and philosophical depth!!! In view of all this, love becomes yet another evidence of the existence of God, as its presence seems to point to the existence of a transcending dimension and also to the existence of a loving Creator, who gives meaning to the act of loving. After all, without God, why would there be love instead of just "indifference"?
