Big Bend Ranch State Park Day 1: This was the main park road where our hitch lock ended up breaking causing our scamp travel trailer coupler to be bent when it came unattached from the Tacoma. Ended up finding a local welder in Presidio who saved the day and we were able to carry on with our trip. #scamp #overlanding #bigbend #texasoverlanding

Are you headed to Expo?
No this was last summer 2023. Are you going this year to flagstaff ? Memorial day I'm planning to run parts of your Stovepipe Wells route. At least from St. George area up over to Caliente and down through Wheeler Pass to Pahrump. Depending on the heat I may follow the NVBDR up to Tonopah and then do some exploring in the Toiyabe Range. Then pick up some of the Pony Express to head back into Utah.
@@bashinate No Expo for me. I'm currently sitting in Texas trying to rebuild my emergency funds after 6 months of vehicle repairs. Then it's off to Missouri for my son's wedding in June, then on to Colorado. Nevada is a very underrated state, IMO. You will enjoy yourself.

Hey Todd this was last summer and I only did part of it from paducah to clarendon. I will definitely have to finish it out at some point

Nice video! Other than being narrow in some spots, it doesn't appear to be too technical. Agreed? We've got it booked for a morning run in a few days. It will be the first bit of dirt for our "new" GX460 (all stock other than AT's).
yeah you will be fine in stock. nothing technical really. just some narrow turns / switchbacks going up
@@bashinate You were right. Had no trouble at all. Was rocky and narrow at points, but it was a cakewalk for our GX! The views were really spectacular! The solitude at the top was on the verge of being an emotional experience. Only home for a day, and already missing Big Bend.....
@@jasonm3871 Absolutely ! I didn't want to leave when I was up at the top overlook. I want to take a picnic up there next time with my family.

Thanks I’ve been having a blast. I agree this section was really interesting. I have never seen so many big bucks. Going through the pecan orchards was very cool and of course the bridge. I will be planning a trip to finish it out up to OK and then I’ll hit you up for stickers. Cheers, Nate

I actually added a relive map at the end of the latest one. I had seen it in other videos and totally forgot about it. You can upload your gps track and it makes the route automatically. Can add photos / videos to it as well. I'll have to try that out on the next video perhaps
