EP17 - WIRING UP THE BIKE - WE HAVE POWER!
zhlédnutí 201Před rokem
As I dug into the wiring of the bike, I couldn't help but feel like I was on to a losing battle. The wires and cables ran through the frame of the bike, snaking off in different directions. I had ordered a brand new wiring kit for the bike, hoping to tidy up the many loose wires and connectors that had accumulated over the years. But before I could start installing it, I needed to trace the exi...

After a couple of weeks locked out of the garage I'm back in and I have the C100 frame completed.
EP15 - C70 CUSTOM REVEALED - MOCK UP AND ENGINE.
zhlédnutí 3,1KPřed rokem
The wait is over. I mock up the Honda C70 and reveal the engine choice i went for. In the video i mention getting a new engine which is still a possibility, Panda's bike has a 110 Lifan engine so if i get a new engine she will have this one. I guess you will have to wait and see. EP14 - HOW TO MAKE A TOP MOUNT PLATE FOR A HONDA CUB

In this episode i fabricate a top mount plate for the C70 so i can fit handlebar risers. Due to the widened forks a custom plate is required, yes i could buy one but that's not as fun.
EP13 - HONDA C100 BODY PANEL REPLACEMENT
zhlédnutí 6KPřed rokem
We are back with the Cub Build Battle!!!! In this episode we replace the rotten part of the C100 frame that was too far gone to save. we cut the old panel off, weld on the new panel and clean up the welds to prepare the frame for shot blasting. Amanda learns to weld (as stated in Episode 1) but realises its a little harder than she thought. Lewis helps out only where necessary like in reaching ...

The '2 week build' is in tatters as i don't finish it in time!! yes, the real world issues of a non paid CZcamsr come crashing in, late parts, work commitments and job interview prep scupper my 2 week build plans. Not to worry, I am very close with just some wiring and polishing to finish.

In the middle of my hectic stack of projects My Son completed his CBT. We came across this bike which ticked all the boxes as well as being cheap. the reason for the price can be seen with a tour of everything that's wrong with it. this 2 possibly 3 video mini series is the story of the 2 week super quick mini restoration. The main goal was to end up with a safe bike he can ride but also someth...

EP03 HONDA C100 SHOT BLASTING AND C70 TEAR DOWN TIME LAPSE!
Nice! Have you thought about making a hard tail kit for people to buy? I'd love one and I think alot of people would
Hello mate, I have yes. I do plan on producing some parts for sale in an online shop I am working on but need to get a good number of parts first. I am planning on making lots of carbon fibre parts for this bike so they will be in there too.
@metalmorfcustoms I've looked online. (Not REALLY extensively but I cannot seem to find a weld on hard tail kit anywhere for the hond cub range. I think you'd have a fair few orders if you advertised on some of the fb hond groups. I'll be your first customer! 🤙
@1eltino problem is with stuff like that there will be a lot of variables. Frames, wheel size etc. I think a basic kit that can be cut to suit would be good. The 4 legs and axle plates. I have the parts modelled in CAD so should get on it.
@metalmorfcustoms that's it! Even if you sold it as a 6 part kit. The 4 legs and the Axle plates. I'd live to buy one if you could make me one. I live in Surrey so I'd be willing to drive to ya to collect it even. Wouldn't matter if the legs where longer and had to be cut down.
Hey, I got a mk5 raleigh runabout that im smashing together with an e-bike to make a duel hybrid, you inspire me. keep the videos coming.
Thank you so much. Will be back shortly to finish the cubs.
Where do you buy parts?
Hi, I use eBay for certain parts and if I can’t get them there I will buy genuine. If I still can’t find them I will make something depending on what it is obviously.
nice ❤❤❤
Cómo se instalan en la llanta. gracias
Hi, I will do a video on what’s needed soon. There will be 2 spacers needed that allow the axle bolt to be tightened without pinching the lower shock mounts.
Hi, Seeing as this video is now 11 months old, I assume it is on the road now? If so can you give me your opinion on the ride quality on these springs? Reducing the classic front ends bounce, and how firm is the front end ride? I am currently trying to find external suspension options for my cub build and struggling for any feedback from people that have done the conversion. Many thanks
Hi George, Not finished yet unfortunately, I’ve had to look after my son who had a bad accident. He’s on the mend now so I will be starting back out there. I have risen the bike though before I pulled it apart the last time and they feel nice compared to the originals, they have eliminated the lift when braking that the originals did. Not as good as a normal set of forks obviously but I’m happy with them. Thanks for following along
What kind of a test run was that?!
New subscriber 😁 expat from UK living in Thailand big cub scene here and my next project hence the join , keep the vid's coming bud 😎😎🤘🤘🤘🤘
Thank you. Will be back on them soon.
Great video. I have two Super Cubs from the 60s and a C70 Passport. I like the look of the bikes with the forks on the front but the metal is so thin I just wonder with repeated jolts if the bracket might start splitting the metal they're welded to.
Hi, the super Cub is my favourite hence the resto and no modifications other than the engine which is a bolt on mod. When we got the bike it had a 110cc aftermarket lump but I have sourced an original 50cc Honda engine which will go back in at some point. Regarding the front shocks, while doing my research I noticed all sorts of mounts have been used with no issues. Even so, when designing mine I made sure to take this into account. The majority of the forces are in shear I.e parallel to the surface of the fork. There is a small rotational moment about the bolt hole but nothing really that would require and kind of stiffening IMO. While designing the bracket I took these forces into account and that is why I settled on the shape I did. I have also welded the Inner brackets to the seam of the fork adding additional strength. All of this hopefully translates to a very strong anchor point.
@@metalmorfcustoms I appreciate the details of the mod. My 83 Passport actually has 53k miles on it. These things really hold up over time.
Wow that’s crazy! I have heard they are bullet proof. I will be using mine for some commuting next year hopefully.
Good video❤️❤️❤️

Hello, I have a C50 with some modifications. I'm from Peru, and I would like to send you some photos so you can give me some improvement ideas.
Hi, feel free to email me. My email is in the About section.
Where can I get the parafango
I got my set on eBay.

Hii, I want try this to my super cub... Can you told me the any referens to buy thoese spring?
Hi, they are YSS springs. I got them from EBay.
@@metalmorfcustoms I try to but I saw this is a small one, on ebay only show me more big, have you the size or referens?

I’m about to do this 😅 thank you for the video
What style light are you going with? I’m a big fan of the surrounds being built into the widened forks
Hi Jacob, just have a small square 2 lens light. I’m not sure weather to mount it and make a panel or just screw it straight into the forks yet. I think I will more than likely make a carbon panel for it.
@@metalmorfcustoms ohhh I like the sounds of the carbon panel idea! Be sure to upload that process too 😃
You making anymore videos
@jamesmccabe5709 hello mate, I am yes. I’ve had a super busy year but will be back to it soon.
Looking good , seen it in person runs beautifully, shame flynn won’t let me ride it 😂
Can’t wait to go on rides together dad
Looking good
Big fan mate! Keep the awesome build videos coming through! I personally really enjoyed how comprehensive this episode was, felt you did the rust repair justice!
Thanks mate, really appreciate it.
Would fine grade emery paper do instead of sand blasting?
Hi, yes anything really, as long as it gives it a key. I just use the blaster because I have one and it’s easy. I wouldn’t if I was polishing though, I would use fine wet and dry up through the grades then finish with a buffer.
do you know where i can get my hands on that air intake hose thingy?
Hello mate, do you mean the part that joins the carb to the head?
@@metalmorfcustomsyes I need it too
They are available on eBay.
Keep up the great work!
Great channel!!
💥💥💥💥💥
Keep it up.....
Outstanding 🔥
Thank you for sharing!
Love it
Great work!!
Great work, if it had been me doing it there'd now be a load of sand on the garage floor where I forgot to seal up the bottom of the tube.....🤫
Lol I’m sure you would do it just fine. I got that tip from CZcams by the way 👍🏻
It's funny how your C70 seemed more troublesome than Amanda's C100, with regard to stuck nuts/bolts etc, despite it looking so much cleaner!
Yes I thought the same. That C100 is a little beauty though. We were going to keep it as it was but the rust was just too bad unfortunately so now it’s going to be a full resto with added baskets lol
Slowly making my way through your videos. I've never done a full tear down with anything other than a push bike - but I have a few friends who have put motorcycles into a box (pending restoration) only to never see the light of day again! 😂
Hi Steve, thank you. These two defiantly won’t be staying in the box I promise lol
Looks nice, can’t wait to see the finished bike
Thanks Scott.
Mock up looks good man! Love the carbon bar. What colour are you thinking for the paintwork?
Thanks dude, I do have a colour in mind, well, a choice of 2. I will probably run a poll nearer the time and let people pick the colour. There’s also a lot more carbon coming.
Size please
Hi Malaka, which size? The width of the forks?
@@metalmorfcustoms yes please
@@malakamadushanka3136 the strip I welded in is 50mm wide. I forget the gap for the axle but it says in the video. That should cover most wheel widths.
@@metalmorfcustoms what's the rims and tyer size please
90/80/17 front and 130/70/17 rear
Coming along well man, great work!
Thank you, next episode is a full mock up with wheels, engine and bars. Defo worth a watch.

Bikes looking nice, when are you back in the cub?
Hey Scott, next episode we are back on them. Big push now for the summer and we have a trip planned which should be fun.
@@metalmorfcustoms nice, where are you planning your trip to? Are you going to video it?
@@scottmunn94 we are thinking a ‘Tour of Cornwall’ around the summer some time but no real dates yet. Once we know I will do a video on it.
