    1. Reciprocity 2. Trust 3. Don't obsess over 50/50 power balances and what you owe each other. Create a reciprocal relationship where you'll both do the best you can for one another. 4. Have Good Will 5. Force creates bitterness and resentment 6. Voluntary arrangements via negotiation is the most sustainable form of organization. True power as a result is found in a certain level of negotiation.

I have an IQ somewhere in the 130's to 140's (IQ fluctuates over time) but I am also industrious, not for the sake of money, although money has it's uses, but for the sake of accomplishment. I enjoy seeing what it is I can create, fix, come up with and the benefits it might bring to myself and others, particularly the people I love the most. Fortunately that has made me an extremely useful resource for those around me and has provided a level of financial success to go along with it. I don't associate emotion with the voluntary agreement to perform work in exchange for money so the concept of being "exploited" for my work or my usefulness to others is anathema to me. On the flip side, I also see the detrimental effects of using money as a means to simply hoard useless things and how that mindset eventually leads to the misery of having to support a lifestyle that becomes continually more demanding over time. It's part of the reason I've also chosen to live modestly despite the money that has come along with my success. I experiment with using money to make money on a small scale simply as an exercise to learn something new and, possibly become proficient at it as well while minimizing the potential drawbacks until I become "good" at it. I've learned some French although it needs work and started learning Russian on my own. I hope to be fluent in both and maybe one other language before I depart from this world. In terms of describing how my brain works, which I've determined is different than most people, the HBO film "Temple Grandin" has scenes animating her thought process which is the closest I've ever seen approximating my own. Watching those scenes for the first time was an extremely emotional experience for me as it finally gave me some confirmation that there might be some others that operate the same way. It can be very isolating seeing the world in a manner that nobody else around you can relate to.

Being philosophical about the plight of people doesn’t make you a genius or even merely clever. Yet so many people mistake that quality for being smart, especially the Left. To me the most brilliant people are those who run successful businesses, employ and make or do things that make our daily lives all the better.

I wonder if the reason for industriousness being equally distributed is that the capacity to distract from long term in favor of short term scales with intelligence. If you’re smarter, sure, you can see farther ahead, but you also necessarily have a greater capacity to generate short term gains. Intelligence isn’t ONLY the ability to forecast the future, it’s an ability to capitalize more easily in the present. Industrious, I think, is a combination of software (parenting and education), and your neural disposition for TYPES of reward. I think some people, regardless of low intelligence, have a hardwired disposition and preference for feelings derived from health and wholeness. That’s not their intelligence, but rather their hardwiring directing that intelligence toward certain kinds of values. Just like some people are drawn to art, writing, numbers, or photography, some people are drawn to wholeness more than others. Given evolution, I don’t think it’s a stretch to think that some people are not just more intelligent…their brains are WIRED to dwell on rewards stemming from wholeness. It’s like being born athletic, but instead of a body geared toward agility, they have a brain geared toward wholeness - values derived from family, peace, conviction, patience….

Yet I still struggle with processing nuanced subjects such as math or English

  • @Thinks-First
    @Thinks-First Před dnem

I had a low IQ as a kid. I was tested for entry into a private elementary school (third grade) and was initially denied because of my low IQ score. I was tested again and the low IQ was confirmed. My parents must have paid someone off because I was allowed into the school eventually. As predicted I performed very poorly. I was always considered a poor student but a well behaved child. Which I was. I became intensely interested in electronics and radios and loved the TV shows "Star Trek" and "The Six Million Dollar Man." I got a kids electronics kit and built many of the projects. My parents told me I was wasting time and should be studying for school. They even threatened to take my electronic kits away. But I loved what I was building and wasn't I learning ? After sixth grade we moved to the suburbs and I attended a public Jr. High school. Again, I was a poor student. I was always called stupid by other kids because I was slow in everything. The teachers were very patient with me because they knew I was slow but I did try and I was a good kid. I was told I was "an old soul" because I was very mature as a child, even though I wasn't academically bright or fast with anything. One day I brought a tiny radio I built from scratch into school and was listening to it through an earphone during class. A class bully I was afraid of saw this and asked what it was. I built it into a matchbox and he wanted to try it. I gave it to him and he loved it. He asked if I could build him one. I did and he became far less of a bully to me after that. I got caught a few days later in class and got into trouble. They told me not to bring the radio back in anymore and figured I got off easy. But a few days later one of the science teachers during science class asked me in front of the class if I was the one who got into trouble for listening to a radio in class. I told him that I was and thought I was going to get into more trouble. I was sure this was it. I was going to be thrown out of class and school. I was so horrified and humiliated that all this attention was being put on me in that seventh grade class. Some kids were already making bad comments and screaming "oooooohhhh, someone's in trouble", and I was waiting for the scolding and wondering how my parents were going to punish me. But instead of berating me the science teacher asked me if I could bring the radio in and show it to the class. Back then there were no radios you could buy, or the kind a kid could get their hands on that were small enough to conceal and listen to during class. So what I built was a marvel back then (1970s) because it didn't require power or an amplifier and it was so tiny I built a tin foil lined matchbox as a case. The science teacher was angry the class was picking on me and defended me angrily saying what I did was a great thing and that instead of making fun of me they should learn what I figured out on my own. I never heard that from an adult before. Ever. I brought in the radio the next class and the science teacher asked me to explain how I built it and how it worked. I was exused from other classes so I could go to more science classes and show more kids what I built. The kids were amazed it worked and all wanted to hear it. But none cared about the details on HOW I made it work. Didn't they ALL want to know so they could build their own ? That's what I thought. Bu, nope. I couldn't figure that out. But I was called "smart" for the first time. I was called "genius" by kids AND teachers. I began to feel smart. I built more electronic items like transmitters and detectors and brought them to school. Kids would ask me to fix their store bought radios and sometimes I could. I was still slow and picked on, but I could see the light at the end of the tunnel and by highschool I started to focus more on the academics. I noticed there was an overlap between electronics and math class and science class. My grades started improving. and I starting to feel smart, at least in the sciences. I could now keep up with my classmates and needed less extra help. Chemistry became very interesting to me, as did biology classes and got in the 90s on Regents exams in chem, physics, bio, and math. All self study. . But I was still only a B- student in school. I went to an average no name local college and did horrible in my first semester. I almost failed chemistry and physics and couldn't understand why. I asked a smart kid in my class who was older because he was in the military for a few years then went back to college and he said it's not that I"m not smart. He said I just didn't know how to study. He showed me how to properly study and I can mark a change in my life from that moment on to this day. Thank you, Patrick, from the bottom of my heart. I retook chemistry 1 and got an A. I took Chem 2 and got an A-. Organic chem 1 I got an A, organic chem 2 a B+. I retook physics 1 and got an A. Physics 2 an A- . And I was ACTUALLY learning and understanding the subjects. I was getting paid by the college to tutor what I was learning to other kids and made $35 per session. Because I was slow I methodically worked everything out into formula sheets so that I could answer just about any problem as long as I remembered my formulas and procedures. I shared them with other students and I got my own office to teach my "cheat methods" in. I felt so smart, even though I wasn't. I actually went on to medical school. Not a top tier one because I was rejected by most medical schools. But a few took me. Maybe 3. I didn't care. They were US medical schools and I was happy. Through medical school I was a bit above average in grades in the first two years, but I was excellent in the hospitals I trained in. Patient evaluation and care came very natural to me. I built things for the hospitals and even fixed an MRI that went down. They called me "genius" when I was anything but. But I felt good. I was offered amazing residencies that were very competitive because all the department heads benefited from my electronics knowlege one way or another. I started to build and patent medical devices and other things and left my residency after a year. That was enough to receive a medical license from my state. I opened my own practice and did well. Other doctors who weren't successful asked to join me. So I set up partnerships with them and now I own practices around the country. Some of the instruments used in the minor surgical side of the practices were designed, built, and patented by me. I was asked to contribute to a surgical textbook. I couldn't believe it. But it happened. One of my patented devices got a small section in a major text. Not bad for a slow person. I started getting calls from doctors all around the world for techniques I published. I was asked to speak at seminars and even performed surgery in front of hundreds of doctors. In the end it turns out maybe my IQ wasn't that low. I now believe I have average intelligence and that the childhood IQ tests were simply wrong. I wanted to be Rudy Wells, MD from "The Six Million Dollar Man." And I succeeded. The point is, if you have a goal and a passion it doesn't matter how you're catagorized. Every attempt to improve yourself, even if you fail, results in a gain. Just "do you" and keep reaching for what you want and you'll find personal satisfaction-without which you can't begin to know true happiness, contentment, satisfaction, and security.

I grew up with a true genius. He saw the world completely differently than i and could solve problems and perform as close to "miracles" with anything electronic or mechanical as I've ever seen. He was also fearless in just about any situation. He could figure out any system, no matter what it was. Completely self taught college drop out. Today he just has a plain jane job with no ownership or real money. As kids growing up I KNEW I was average intelligence so I studied HIM and how he did things. I picked up and applied enough to start multiple successful businesses and have been financially independent since I was 28. How he isn't a billionaire makes no sense to me EXCEPT that he seemed to have no ambition to stick to something that required effort he did not want to put in. For example, I finished college, he didn't. I spent months and years cultivating business relationships and building a reputation, he didn't. I had to constantly study, reassesses things, and adapt. He didn't. It's like he stopped growing during High School and I moved on even though I wasn't anywhere near as smart as him.

I took the test and it came up that i have a high IQ. But, i dont care What matters more to me is if a person has a kind and loving heart . There are many people with immense intellegence that have selfish attitudes. My mother had very severe dyslexia and was thought of as stupid and un teachable at school . She was far from stupid . She taught me many practical things . I have BAs and other degrees . And they are worth nothing . No one is stupid unless they want to be . And to my mind anyone with high intelligence who brags about it , is the most stupid of all.

  • @addertooth1

It is simple. People with high IQs get the right answer first. In the workforce, the person who consistently offers the right answer first will be the ones who move up. The ones who take longer to derive an answer (or even worse, has a history of giving the wrong answer), don't move up as quickly. Bright people solve the problems which other people find impossible to resolve. They are viewed as an important resource in the work environment. Often, they do things solo which would require a TEAM of employees to produce an equal result. This makes them cost effective, even at a higher wage than their co-workers. They can frequently be faster than a team, because as a solo effort, they don't have to convince a "team" of the best approach. Most workplace tasks are "sprints". It is rare for a goal to take years or decades to complete. Most are due by the afternoon (or within a single week). Bright people excel at sprints, but may fall down on a multi-year slog grinding on a problem. The latest model taught by colleges is disdainful of bright employees. There is a solid reason for it. Colleges want companies to build teams, as versus having one bright person. The reason is simple, if you lose a single member of a team, it rarely impacts the company's bottom line. But, if they lose the key "bright person", they frequently find the company languishing until a work-around replacement is established. I have seen companies fail, after losing a small number of key people. I have seen many write RED ink for extended periods of time after losing one key person. The safe bet is the "team method". The path to fastest growth for companies is to hire the brightest. Everything is a tradeoff.

This is the 66th ad Jordan pushed on me on May 16 Jordan needs to address as part of a disciplinary probation order, a period of suspension may be imposed prior to the effective date of the probation. The Board's Disciplinary Guidelines provide details of the conditions under which a suspension may be made a part of the probation order. During suspension, licensees may not practice psychology or refer to themselves as psychologists. As indicated above in "Probation," suspensions are considered disciplinary actions associated with probation orders and, as such, are public information and provided to consumers upon request. Jordan is a Frasier Crane wannabe. He is an entertainer not a psychologist. Because he sells books and videos and lectures, THAT IS NOT THERAPY. He needs to address his bad conduct in courts in the case of Case 1 Sordi v. Sordi, 2009 CanLII 80104 (ON SC) he defamed a parent in court. In the case 2 R. v. i have a measured high IQ, also highly educated, but have also made some truly stupid decisions in my life. More than once. So, therefore i am stupid ?

  • @invalidusername4011

Industrious people never overthink are confident in themselves and are people of action. Often, high IQ goes with crippling doubt, self depreciation, and high neuroticism. Not a good combo to be an industrious individual.

Oh Jordan giving power to my son who refuses to pay rent because you empowered him to say he’s been deceived by his Mom? Who did everything to get him educated/ paid for his truck driving course which he never finished/ paid for his moves each time he fails out there in the world. He’s almost 50 does not want to pay his way leaves fans on with a window open just to drive the heat bill soaring. He thinks you’re great… maybe you can tell your followers to pay their own way, bills, he gets a stray cat fixed then tells me I owe $400. for the stray cat? Still dominating 1/2 the house he does not pay for…..

Common sense is way more important than having a very high IQ, at some level of being super intelligent that person is going to lose the ability to function in the everyday world.

  • @spiritualantiseptic

When you're an high IQ individual, being around normies is going to be boring. You only get stimulated by people on your level and you feel like you can develop, plan and work with them, while the rest stays behind. But the gap shouldn't be too big either. Someone with IQ 154 is going to be bored with a person with IQ 130. And only 1:10,000 people have IQ >150. The more intelligent a person is, the more likely they are going to be isolated. Also, conscientiousness is not correlated with intelligence. People with lower IQ can compensate with conscientiousness while people with higher IQ can just rely on their intelligence and become less ambitious once they find a niche that satisfies their needs. They work smarter instead of harder. “I choose a lazy person to do a hard job. Because a lazy person will find an easy way to do it.” ― Bill Gates High IQ can be really multi-sided. There's a high correlation with mental disorders, depression, bipolar disorder, allergies, asthma and autoimmune disorders etc.

But don't you go above 99% or everyone will hate you for making them feel stupid, even if you bend over backwards to be gentle with them. And don't you work too fast or they'll hate you for making them look bad -- there's your indusriousness issue; keep it to yourself or you'll get far more criticism than praise. And your social circle will disappear down to the 2 far tails of the bell curve, the only people willing to tolerate you are those equally IQed and those who accept they ain't that smart & don't take offence.

It can be a curse. There are so many people under your score that it leads to depression and lack of reliable friends. The biggest problem is having to report to a DIE level boss that could never understand your picture. I expect that those who elect quiet quitting represent a higher IQ and are willing to see it all burn down with the brain drain.

So strange that the 0,25% of the world population with an IQ over 140 always shows up in comment section on YT.. A random test on the internet does not give you a real IQ score / rating. I would say that all of you have around 95-100, maybe a few with a little over 110 but that’s it.
