Excellent video!!! Just to share...i just had blood work done myself and im one of those difficult people to find a vein. They finally found a vein...but i look like i was visited by a vampire :( . Anyway..glad its done...that redemption assignment was like a thesis...wow!!! Keep swinging for the fences!

I have been facing his issue lately, my pre-med in my country is a bit different than yours, but lately the studying has been taking up so much time, there is days where the gym is out of reach, especially since my gym closes at 9 pm, but I always make sure that I hit all of my upper and lower body at least once a week (yesterday did 1000 pushups lol, making a video on it) but if you read this I have a question. How do you deal with all nighters? Do you sleep in the day the next day? How do you compensate for the loss of sleep??? Im curious to know since I will be starting to do this also soon.

From personal experience what set me aside from other applicants for my medical school and residency application was my work experience and my story. A lot of people can shadow which requires very little effort, but working with doctors was a key thing for me. I never shadowed a single doctor. I think the big thing in my residency/medschool personal statement was how I wrote it. The very first sentence is key, and it should be not about what you want, but who you are.

Cardiothoracic is my dream specialty!! I wish I could've shadowed my dad’s surgeon. Him experiencing three heart attacks and surviving surgery impacted me and pushed me to want to pursue this path as well. I hope you share the experience with us!!

Yes! Follow through is something I preach all the time in my life. I was reflecting on it one day when I was cleaning and I realized there are people who talk about what they want to do and there are people who execute the plan. Words are nice, but the actions get us to where we want to be. Without that we can't grow.
