you waste more gas driving in 4 high than in 2 wd, its just a dirt road. put in 4wd when you need it

Manufacturers have built in margins for GVWR (from a liability point of view). TBC but Jeeps in OZ have higher GVWR for the same vehicle. Also, I think MOST overland rigs are overweight and run absolutely fine for years. I think though it's important to change the brakes, suspension, the springs and possibly the front/rear axles to heavy duty products to handle the extra weight.
One thing I did is get rid of the winch, you save almost 75 lbs, get a kinetic rope instead for emergencies.

@@nismogsus6297 Actually, its because its bumpy as hell at 30+ PSI. Air down as soon as you hit dirt and you won't chip a tooth.
Hello, do you think my 3” lifted 2wd 4runner can make it up this trail?
I've gone up to bowman lake in my stock 2WD 3rd gen tacoma during the summer with falken wildpeak at3w tires. Went again after doing a small 1.5/2inch lift and it was easier the 2nd time around. Can't say how it would be if the trail was wet but in the dry it's easy. At the very least get good tires.
I use to go up here when I was a kid, now old lol. Have you seen the mines and mining carts on the opposite side of the lake? There is a very cool are like accross from the island ! It's abandoned mine with lots of cool stuff they just left there!
If u haul yr jeep ina trailer is there anywhere at the beginning of the trail where u can park an un load yr rig.?
So many of our once hidden spots are now features on CZcams. Sad

its fairly wide! you can prob fit no problem. trail length wise, either you can go in then out the same path or go around which can vary.
He shoulda got a Trailhawk and put some ATs on.

@@blt981 I do think grand cherokee can make it through no problem! But keep in mind, everything is different with a bit of snow and ice during the winter. Stay safe!

For a water crossing as a beginner what would you recommend? How do I determine if it’s too sketchy or not? Looked pretty deep in your video.
If it looks too sketchy, its always better to back away from it. Watercrossing is fun but flooded vehicle is not good. If you want to check the depth, most I would do is find a stick and measure the depth. Have fun!
My method will be wearing shorts & flip flops, walk in. If water is above my knees, it's likely too deep for my SxS 😁
don't need to be in four wheel drive for majority of this trail you can make it with two wheel.

Yeah why not? Reduces wear for your suspension, rides better, doesnt damage the trail as much for others.
@@moum3185 neither are really a concern with that trail and your suspension. but i guess if youre gonna spend all that money might as well get the full experience out of your truck even if its unnecessary
Can you set up camp by the lake?
Not sure what the "rule" or the "law" is regards to setting up camp super close to the water, but yeah you can get pretty close access to the lake
Did you take Washington Rd or Bowman Rd? I went last weekend on Washington Rd and had to head back since the trail was getting harder to get through with all the snow the higher we got.
We took bowman Lake road. Yeah after the snow fall season, its pretty challenging if the snow is still there.
Bro, where is the trail head begin? I've been meaning to take a trip out there.
Easiest way to navigate is to just search bowman lake on google map. Just make sure to download the offline map of the area before heading out since theres no reception up there.

@@chuckpark29 LowGear 쓰면 충분한거같아요. 315 70 r17 / 35 인치정도 되는 사이즈인데 bfgoodrich ko2 라 조금 작게 나왔어요! 리프트는 앞뒤 3인치 스프링에 뒤에만 1인치 스페이서 추가했습니다 짐이 무거워서요...
