I have to nearly push-button GSPs, 4.5 & 2.5yo. Father and son, attached and mad max hunting dogs. Time and consistency. If you screw up with a child you have a great opportunity to mend and grow mutually. If you screw up with working/hunters dogs, especially pups the chance of redemption goes down. Love, consistency, time (including playtime), and patience.

Wonderful, intelligent breed. I have had the privilege of caring for two and they really do bond to the family even though they may choose a favorite. Love them.

My dog Naula looks just like him! She's just the female version....😂😂😂 Naula is always distracted, and I also believe these dogs have ADHD & Selective Hearing.....😂😂😂 We all know damned good and well when you're outside callin out your Dogs name, but you're really yellin it, that dog will just ignore you and stay right where they're at & not move.

He looks 99% like our GP/AS mix we rescued from the shelter who was surrendered by the Amish in our area. Such a love. Horrid separation anxiety which has resulted in him destroying everything nice we own. We can't leave him alone for more than a minute unsupervised without him destroying something 😂 and the shedding is near impossible to keep up with even with daily brushing. And he's got such an over active bladder. He pees when he's happy he pees when he's receiving redirection. Brushing him he pees all over himself and us. I ask him all the time if he was raised in a barn, but I know he was 😂 but his love and huge heart is the only reason we keep him.

How does a super fearful dog do at a board and train? I would love to send my dog - but he is terrified of not being in familiar turf. He's a covid pup - so, saw very few people/environments for his first two years. Now he is aggressive in his turf, but shuts down when he is in unfamiliar surroundings without me there. I tried sending him to daycare for 6 weeks...he hid in the corner and would not interact with the other dogs or staff; shook terribly during the whole ride there - took him almost a year to be comfortable in the car again. It was pitiful. I know he would benefit from a bnt but I worry that the entire time would be spent trying to get him out of his fears - or make him worse.

Oh man this is unbelievable. Our Iggy turns 1 next week and her behaviours are IDENTICAL DOWN TO A TEE!!! There's not much I wouldnt do to have a similar board and train service available here in Sydney, Australia.

Nice video. I have an Aussie/Lab mix. Not the designer breed, Aussiedor, but the mutt resulting from a Lab parent and an Aussie parent getting together for a one-night stand. I couldn't have asked for a better dog. Highly intelligent and easy to train! Yes, he has a few quirks, but we've adjusted in his training to make sure these quirks are not detrimental to him. He will turn 4 years of age next month. He has never been punished a day in his life with me as I live by the philosophy that "pup is always learning and you never punish a pup for learning." The result? A loving and loyal dog that is well-behaved, and immediately looks to me for direction in an unfamiliar situation. Thanks for the video!

Oh my god I have never been more jealous. 2 WEEKS?!?!? I’ll admit my mastador is easy to train in doing something. But getting him to stop committing certain things feels impossible. How in the world did you get him to heel while next to a lake and birds. Super impressive. My mastador has the exact same issues described at the beginning; jumps towards everyone, pulls when he sees a bird or cat or child

My Aussie was listening and listened to every command. House trained. And after I felt it was safe to let him sleep outside the kennel, I bought him a bed for the bedroom and let him sleep in the bedroom. After a week, he thought he could pee on the floor in bedroom with our letting us know he needed to go like he's done his whole life. And so I moved him back out the bedroom back to his kennel during sleep time and now he is absolutely refusing all of my commands. I tell him to drink water eat food go pee n poo or lay down or sit down the moment I give a command he runs to my spouse, almost like he's telling me I don't have to listen to you. I read that if their controlled environment is changed they will get oppositional and stop listening and become defiant. I feel like he thinks he's alpha over me and I don't know how to get him back under control he listen to my spouses commands n just refuses mine. I swear he's mad at me and pouting because I moved him out the bedroom 😂 been 2 weeks now and he's been being impossible. Any advice?
