The Nubian Archery Club proudly upholds the rich history of Nubian hunters and warriors, whose mastery of the bow earned them the title Ta-Seti, meaning “Land of the Bow.” 🏹 As early as the Neolithic period, Nubian hunters used bows and arrows, not just for subsistence but also to trade valuable goods like animal skins and ivory.
Nubian archers formed the backbone of armies that conquered Egypt in the 8th century BC and even served as elite warriors for Persian and Egyptian empires. Their unparalleled skill was recognized across millennia, with representations found in Egyptian tombs and reliefs as early as 2400 BC.
Join us every Sunday from 12-3 PM in Roxbury for private lessons and immerse yourself in this ancient craft while mastering your own skills.
