Daytona Pepsi 400 1996
I'm posting a memory from my only visit to Daytona, the 1996 Pepsi 400. The video is a bit shaky as I'm trying to film from a jam packed Fireball Roberts Grandstand with a bunch of crazy Nascar fans. The video ends with Dale Earnhardt beating current leader, Dale Jarrett out of the pits. Sterling Marlin would eventually win the rain shortened event. Good times!

This video is a tribute to the late Ron Vochaska, who raced a C/Altered coupe in the 60s at US131 Dragway in Martin, MI. The car was a crowd favorite. Ron returned to the track in 2010 and made some passes in a friend's 427 Fairlane. Rest in peace, Ron.

Trying out the new polarizing lens filter on my DJI Phantom 3 Standard drone and was able to capture a sun dog. Filter really reduces the glare.

Haulin' Drag Cars In The '60s

This video shows how race cars were transported to and from the race tracks back in the '60s. Most of the race cars, even some of touring professionals were carried on open trailers, ramp trucks, or pulled with tow bars. Today, 90% of drag cars are transported in enclosed trailers. Gone are the days of seeing beautiful race cars being towed down the highway.

Stone wood and cook late 60s Wilmington California we would drive down from antelope valley to Lions drag strip he brought up a funny car before the race he would walk out on the track he would have a huge wooden fork and spoon advertisement he was going to eat everybody up it was so hilarious

This was one of my favourite groups who were banned from travelling to apartheid South Africa. We missed a lot because they refused to play in apartheid South Africa and rightly so.

This really illustrates what is wrong with the sport today. As a kid back then you would see a race car on a trailer and about go totally ape shit! Today all the kids see is a plain white box being hauled by a motorhome and most parents couldn't give two shits enough to take junior to the track. This is why our sport is all but dead.
