I believe the Jaredites were Ethiopians. They started near the Garden of Eden in Ethiopia at the head of the Nile River. Their journey North was down the Nile to Egypt. That's where they outfitted their barges to survive the open ocean. Their sailing journey was to Israel. The Biblical Promise Land. The Book of Ether is assigning credit to Ethiopians for settling Israel. They brought the "Milk and Honey" with them from the Garden of Eden (Genesis 2:13). They did not stay in Israel. In 9:3 they go South. In Chapter 10 they arrive at the Narrow Neck of Land, build Large Buildings, wear Fine Linen. In Chapter 12 there is a long discussion about "mocking". The remainder of the Book of Ether describes their destruction. The message in the Book of Ether is that the Lords people migrated to Egypt and were destroyed. The Narrow Neck of Land is the Isthmus of Suez. This is how they were able to arrive at it twice. Once in Ether 2:13 and again in Ether 10:20. Once before they sailed to Israel and once after the go South again. When Lehi goes South he goes into Egypt. He does not go into Arabia. This is key information that is deliberately kept from the members of the LDS Church. The 3 day journey from the Red Sea to the continually flowing river is from the Red Sea near modern day Suez, to the Nile River near modern day Cairo. This is in fact a 3 day journey by camel that any one can test. Carsten Niebuhr did it in 1762 from Aug 28th to Aug. 30 and placed the words "3 day journey" between the Nile and the Red Sea on the "New Map of Arabia". When Lehi settles in Egypt, he has the Tree of Life Vision. In that vision he sees the Jaredites. He sees their large buildings and their fine linen. He sees them mocking. He also sees Jews coming from Israel and "falling away" or being "destroyed". This all happens in Egypt, just read Jeremiah 44.

Sorry L. Norman Shurtleff: No "Tower of Babel" is mentioned in the Book of Mormon. Only a "Great Tower" at a much earlier time. Non-scholars do not read carefully and have no idea what this means. The Olmec did not exist in Peru & Ecuador, but only in Mesoamerica, and it was the mother culture to subsequent civilizations in Mesoamerica. Bees which make honey are native to the New World, and were widely used in Pre-Columbian times by native Americans. The Book of Ether does not say that bees were brought to the New World, only that they were transported by the Jaredites within the Old World. Once again, careless reading.

Interesting. I'm very interested in the Mulekites. But I don't believe that Joseph Smith ever said that they landed in South America. From the histories that I've read, he indicated that North America was where the main part of the Book of Mormon took place. Though I believe that the people were very numerous and sophisticated and covered both North and South continents. I also believe that Asia and South America had communication. The prophets have stated the Book of Mormon occurred in North America. Joseph Smith said he was crossing the lands of the the Nephites in his march of Zions camp. Will u dispute a prophet? I won't. Parley P Pratt was sent to the Lamanites on the edge if Missouri. Lamanites, not to Mexico or Costa Rica or Peru. And secure the Narrow Path Joseph Smith was very clear when he talked about where the jaredites and where the Nephites came to. They came to this continent. There is only one continent they came to and that was North America. None of what is in the Book of Mormon is consistent with what's in Central or South America. And there is far too much archaeological evidence consistent with the Book of Mormon. I also would like to point out that the overtones from India from the maya hoo here hundreds of years before the Nephites got here, and Buddhism is not consistent necessarily with Hebrew custom. There are no mild wraps for them to walk up which is also only consistent with Hebrew belief structure, not only that, it's still in the wrong continent. Remember that some of Smith's ruminations about the Nephites and lamanites were kind of set aside for a while and people were not given easy access to them. I believe that what you're actually speaking of is not what you think it is. It may be an Egyptianism, even in ancient Hebrew saying. A good example would be Detroit. Two pieces of land separated by a narrow neck between them. Not too hard to cross but they are separated. I know that an entire Pantheon of writings were written about the possibility of their Landing in South America and then had to make their way all the way to North America through groups of people who were completely antithetical to their belief structure? Get real. Not only did they not cross the Pacific which would have been an almost impossible to ask, it would have been so much easier to just cross the Atlantic and go to the place that they ended up at in the first place. Why is it then that the Doctrine And Convents clearly states that Zarahemla is across from Navoo Illinois and Joseph Smith clearly states on more then one occasion that the Book of Mormon History took place within the north eastern Part of the United States.

Necos king of Egypt first discovered this and made it known. Next we have the story of sailors. Nephi is described as a master shipbuilder and a master sailor. Then we have the sailing journey. Then, much later in the narrative, the descendants of Nephi say this. Alma 22:32 And now, it was only the distance of a day and a half’s journey for a Nephite, on the line Bountiful and the land Desolation, from the east to the west sea; and thus the land of Nephi and the land of Zarahemla were nearly surrounded by water, there being a small neck of land between the land northward and the land southward. Assuming trans-oceanic travel was not possible before Christopher Columbus (or Leif Erickson), it isn't that big of a stretch to assume that the sailing journey in the Book of Mormon is the same one Herodotus describes. In other words, Nephi circumnavigated Africa, learned it was surrounded by water except the narrow neck that connects it to Asia, then settled in the Land South which is modern day Africa. The Book of Mormon is an Ethiopian text written by Ethiopian Jews in Africa. All the geography clicks into place once you realize this. The treeless land North where they build with "cement" is the desert and ruins of Egypt. The fertile land to the South with rivers and lakes is Ethiopia. The Northward flowing major river that empties near the narrow neck is the Nile River. The Land Bountiful near the Narrow Neck is the Nile River Delta.

I love to see opinions on where the BOM took place. Thank you for sharing your opinion. There are many issues wrong with your thoughts about the Jaredites. A massive issue is that you are claiming that the Jaredites brought camels and then they evolved into llamas... in how many years? the Incas used llamas.... so, maybe a thousand or so years for them to evolve into llamas? Also, llamas didn't evolve from camels, they share a common ancestor..... 11 million years ago....

Joseph Smith did NOT teach that Lehi's colony landed in South America. The Mulekites came over with the Phoenicians and went through into the Great Lakes region, Lehi's family landed in Florida. Nothing you saying here come anywhere from Joseph Smith at all. You are spreading disinformation.

You're looking in the wrong place bud. The Nephite temples were all made out of lumber. They never even lived in what is Central America / South America. The cities of the Mayans / Incans / Aztecs are much older and more closely tied to Ancient Atlanteans.

Hi again. I just watched this video again, and have other concerns / questions. First of all, the scriptures state that the Lord commanded them to gather their flocks, male and female, to take with them. ( Ether 1:41 ) Does the Lord command them to take the male and female of all the animals, as he commanded Noah to do? No, but of their flocks. Are we to suppose that they had flocks of every kind of animal; I don't think so. Do the scriptures teach us, or have any of the General Authorities ever mentioned that the Lord gave the Jaredites the mission to repopulate the promised land with the many species of animals? No, that was part of Noah's mission. The Lord did, however, know that the Jaredites would be traveling in the wilderness for several years and would need those flocks to reproduce, providing them with food and materials. Again, the scriptures in the Old Testament clearly teach us that the lands were not divided by the seas until several generations AFTER Noah, hence the Americas would have been repopulated by natural reproduction and expansion / migration long before "the Lord did bring Jared and his brethren forth even to that great sea which divideth the lands". ( Ether 2:13) In the specific topic of the llamas, vicuñas, alpacas, y guanacos, had the Jaredites been the ones to take them to the Americas, why are no remaining llamas, alpacas, vicuñas, or alpacas in any area near Mesopotamia?? Secondly, I need to ask why you state that the Andean highland region is the motherland for all three of the major cultures / civilizations of pre-Columbian America? Fourthly, near the 10:00 minute mark of the video you speak about the Manabí culture of Western coastal area of Ecuador, but your reference scenes during those moments are of the Ingapirca ruins in the highlands, just North of Biblián and Azogues, where I served as Branch President. The Ingapirca ruins, ( which I have visited and explored three times ), belong to the Cañari culture, who fought fiercely before becoming assimilated into the Inca empire late 15th, early 16th centuries AD. Again, I'm not trying to be contrary, but if we are to present and share this kind of content, should we not present it a little more in form of hypothesis rather than established fact, and shouldn't we back it up with more direct, clear, and concise evidence and scripture? I remember reading that there is an underground system to bring water to the "resort" built by the Nephites known today as Sacsayhuamán. Do you know if there is also an underground system to being water to the Koricancha temple? The temple mount in Jerusalem has underground tunnels that bring in water. And also underground passages for people. I hear of such passages in Sacsayhuamán and around Cusco but I never hear of anyone exploring them. Maybe they would need a suit with an oxygen supply to survive in them.
