Such a beautiful song and lyric...
Oh come all you wild young men
And a-warnin' take by me
Never to lead your single life astray
And into no bad company
As I myself have done
It been in the merry month of May
When I was pressed by a sea captain
And on board a man of war I was sent
We sailed on the ocean so wide
And our bonny, bonny flag we let fly
Let every man stand true to his gun
For the Lord knows who must die
Let every man stand true to his gun
For the Lord knows who must die
Our captain was wounded full sore
And likewise were the rest of his crew
Our main mast rigging
It was scattered on the deck
So that we were obliged to give in
Our decks they were spattered with blood
And so loudly the cannon did roar
And here all the while I wished myself at home
And all alone with my Polly on the shore
She's a tall and a slender girl
She's a dark and a roving eye
And here am I lie a-bleeding on the deck
When for her sweet sake I would die
And here am I lie a-bleeding on the deck
When for her sweet sake I would die
So farewell to my parents and my friends
And farewell to my dear Polly, too
I never would have crossed the salt sea so wide
If I had been ruled by you
Never would have crossed the salt sea so wide
If I had been ruled by you
Such a beautiful song and lyric...

A blast from the past. Used to listen to Radio Jackie in the early 1980's as did many in the Liverpool area. Rick Dane (Eric Haydock) used to play great rock music. Broadcasting illegally from numerous sites across town, mostly from the high rise flats in Cantril Farm as they could get a better signal higher up! The GPO were always after them and occasionally they would suddenly go off air as t...

Not much about Che Guevara here. I guess that a tjhird rate poet made sure that the three newsreels with historical interest were deleted.
Brilliant!

I grew up in Northern Ireland in the 70’s near to a couple of the places featured in that road safety advert. Sadly it has continued to be a major blight into the 21st century.
looking for new sensations and new old sounds, because most of today's music is so lame and boring it is almost insulting. Thank you for uploading this,it sounds clean and fresh, almost ethereal! thank God we have the seventies and CZcams!
I forgot Toad The Wet Sprocket was making fun of early Genesis live 😂
He was sp funny lol❤

Northern Ireland in the 70s had worse problems than road accidents, twice as likely to be involved in a road accident , 1000 times more likely to be shot or blown up. Pretty sure Julie was shot as well while walking down the street, could be Northern Ireland again.
very nice collection, thank you very much! I was born as late as in the 21st century, yet I can feel the deep 'shortwave feeling', an undescribable feeling of through the times and the world, majestic!
Ray Hill revealed himself as a mole and informant in this documentary in 1984, as well as secretly working for Searchlight. He died a giant of the anti-fascist movement.
i like this kind of minimal sound ! This song sounds highly great
When the words Master Plan are included in your title you've already failed. It has. It did. Runcorn needs a better vision.
The tune is fine, the bollocks they are on about.... not so.

Whats the name of that melody. I've heard it before, but i can't recall it.
It isn't original sountrack.
Still remember how this used the be The Way to find out what was happening around the world. Especially English Football ! And Aussie Rules Football !!!

Brilliant underrated comedy
Damn. I never thought I say this, but I gotta respect Toad the Wet Sprocket. At least the first version.
Back in 1976 I bought a 353 in red. It was the first brand new car that I owned when I was 18yrs old. I liked it, and had if for many years. It was reliable too. I only sold it because spare parts became hard to get, but it went to a good home!
Was the Pamela Stephenson in Toad TWS?.... This is genius, proof that the 70s wasn't actually that bad.
Why didn't the French succumb to their leader's "charms" in 1939?
Man is an absolute legend. I’m a black cab driver and I picked him up in London and he had me in absolute hysterics. Best passenger ever…..
Buggernation street classic 😂
East Germany ❤
Не обещай, не надо...
😂🤣😅😆😁😄 This is effin inspired. I've never seen it before. Eric Idle was a genius. He's got it. He nailed the cosmically titanic, celestial ( run out of superlatives) pretentiousness of prog rock bands of that era. Each one of them thought he was a mystical, transcendental philosopher, following some Eastern guru ( Maharishi Bagwan Hardcastle), whereas they were often drugged up zombies with a streak of violence. I appreciated the guru. So you're from India ? No, I'm from Shepherd's Bush, but I work in an Indian restaurant. Pure genius. Thank you Eric. Thank you CZcams for putting this lost gem into my feed. I didn't know it existed. BTW It shows that Spinal Tap weren't the first to nail rock n roll pretentiousness. But their version went all the way up to eleven.
Did the caller spell out the name Qualtrough on the call to the club and was it written down?
Hilda Fenemore as the mum in the first PIF, best known as Elsie the cleaner in Are You Being Served.

Made in GDR. From VEB Eisenach Automobile. Great! 🙃
Could someone tell me what the music at 2:56 is? I tried using Shazam to find it, but because of the low quality it keeps giving me random crappy rap songs.
Sorrynation Street is a pale imitation. Where's Buggernation St?
Wait, i thought Toad The Wet Sprocket were a real band? I swear they were mentioned back in the late 80s, and oh god i really fell for the joke didn't I?
Great music m.czcams.com/video/ehIMGsS0FXY/video.html
Almost as good as LCD-TV and Homosexual Flat Share.
Please can we have our buggernation back 😂 funny as hell.

Legendary comedy. One of my all time favourite scenes on any show
This superb car killed off by Helmut Kohl... who also destroyed most of the DDR's industry, the Palast hotel, Palast der Republik etc. Sadly he was never brought to trial.....
I love this! My Mum grew up on Homefarm Road
