Shaw Trust is a charity helping to transform the lives of young people and adults across the UK and internationally.
Our specialist services help people gain an education, enter work, develop their career, improve their wellbeing or rebuild their lives. As a charity we add value to every service we deliver by investing back into the people and communities we support.
Our 4,000 staff and 1,000 volunteers provide joined-up services for government, local authorities, combined authorities, employers, stakeholders - including the Department for Work and Pensions, Education and Skills Funding Agency, clinical commissioning groups and NHS Trusts - and individuals. Our work focuses on seven business areas:
- Employability
- Learning and skills
- Justice
- Children’s services
- Education
- Charitable services and enterprise
- Community health and wellbeing

They are only making me apply for jobs that for some reason are £5 below what everyone else pays (i think they have deals with these awful employers). If they force me into this I'll never her savings or have expendable cash and I'll become homeless when the next inevitable yearly rent increases hits. This is just evil and could surely push sone poor soul to suicide or something. Its not good, its bad.
❤❤❤
I am a recipient of the Assistive Technology grant for the Uccello tipping tea pot and have enjoyed it greatly. I had been burned while using a stove top teapot and find this teapot to be a more user friendly teapot for myself and family members along.
Breach of human rights! You are forcing people to do unpaid workfare. You ought to be ashamed of yourselves.
I'd love to know more cos they are SO VAGUE! Is there ANY advantage of this over getting a volunteer job on my own? Will I need less references or less of anything that I'd need if I got a volunteer job by myself? And do they only get UNPAID work? (Cos, yeah, I get that impression too but OMG they are SO VAGUE about what they can actually help with & that makes me wary!)
During the waterfall
I got sent to this on Friday , and then told I can't sign up with it. What the fuck is this bullshit ?
I've been with them since may,had one appointment,I asked the woman what jobs have people got from this service, she said depends what you want to do,they've cancelled two appointments already and only have 4 workers in office 1 on maternity leave(3 left,)I keep hearing bad shit about it online,Why wouldn't they let you sign up?
Thank you for sharing.
Jobcentre staff were constantly objectionable and baulked every step of the process, they eventually forced me to stop the business and look for a job just as it was beginning to succeed. Absolute garbage.
You have come a long way.
obey the job center
we are being taken over by world goverments like the elite who controll the job centers
how do we apply when the work is not there all agencys
work programmes will come in retail they love slaves
goverment will throw you in its all controlled by the world order
Appalled, why are the fatties not kneeling like all these waste of space quangos
I've had no help so far
I truly hope you have received the help and support since your last posting 2 years ago. ❤
What happend, any help ???
I wish they would help me get a job
Classic shaw trust they do know how to put on a good show, attempting to improve the lives of participants, but damaging the health of their employees
Like all things in nanny state britain, the details and results are vague to cover up their total lack of success, they focus on social issues instead of actual results like getting you a job or income, while keeping you busy with pointless go-nowhere activities to "get you help" for things you didnt need help with in the first place.
SO vague! Yep. What kind of activities did they have you or others doing?
3 supermarkets are closing down in my town all other shops shut due to lockdown it would be nice to find working from home job though.
Good for you mate ❤️

I hate Corbyn but i'd vote Labour to get rid of the tories and their shaw henchmen.
My life is a misery because of the sick bullies who work for shaw, tories' henchmen, I hate shaw more than anything in the world. ROT IN HELL YOU DISGUSTING CUNTS.
Truth is you get forced onto it by the jobcentre and their nasty vile Shaw henchmen threaten you, call you a liar and insult you. Big hinderance to getting a job is having to travel miles to their shithole when I could be on my computer at home doing some useful jobsearching. Absolute cunting scum, traitors to the people of Britain, I hope they all get karma.
Trust me, I'm 7 months into this project and it is nothing like this! Support Managers too busy to contact you. Try and get you to sign up for any old job regardless if you are suitable or not or get you a position on a zero hours contract. Not once has my financial situation been mentioned. Oh and get the hump when you say you are not satisfied by the Support being received and accuse you of being passive aggressive. Avoid IMO!
Depends how you come across with them imo,, if you look easily intimidated they wont hesitate in exploiting that by getting you onto pointless sessions they do,, "interview techniques workshop", where you spend 2 days learning how to present yourself, do a mock interview where they actually want you to wear a suit,, and no one on this is ever going to wear a suit to their job interviews,, because they are only wanting warehouse work, which are 100% through a sodding agency,, a sign up and induction is usually the way ffs,, its like they think they are dealing with bankers and car salesmans ffs. Health never seems to come into their thinking either... its basically the old work programme with the word "health" tagged in for show, just to trick people onto it with actual health conditions. They can expect being sent to recruitment agencies,, and doing lots of work related sessions 😂😒. and just today one bloke with obvious health conditions was spoken to like a fu**ing 5 year old by this hard nose cow :(,, he only wanted reimbursing and was told to sit down and wait nearly an hour,, because they weren't reimbursing him until 12:15.... like what the f***?.
SIMON.
u fna?
Very fna.
I dont get it. I just dont get it. For 99% of folk looking for work they have brains they have nouse they have the tools to find their own jobs. Call these schemes whatever you want as I see it they help very few people actually get into a decent job. Why is the taxpayer paying the costs of these schemes that are poor value for them? Its nothing more than being spied on, being prodded and poked and ultimately stressed out by some DWP employee or third party in basically rewriting and rewriting and rewriting my damn CV - how many times do you want me to bloody well rewrite my CV? Utter craziness.......all they want is to have as many people think this is rubbish ( all for a pissy £73 a week ) so theyll sign off and make the numbers look like the government is winning. It should be simple!:- Sign on once a fortnight and at a regular set time and day......like it used to be. None of this having to in at different times of the day on a daily basis bollox. Filled your book in to show youre looking for work. DWP support you with the £73 welfare that youve paid your taxes for in previous jobs and they trust you to just crack on and if you want help YOU ask for it and their help is not FOISTED on you (i use the term "help" loosely). 2.6m out of work. 400,000 jobs. Look DWP 2.6m people cant possibly all get a job if theres only 400000 of them going unless you expect 2.6m people to agree to jobshare LOL. Seriously I bet some bright spark in the DWP is thinking about jobsharing searches next!
Yeah these programmes that have been "replaced" with "new programmes" are just the same old b0llox with a new wrapper. with each passing one your CV is always wrong? like how? its been redone about 40 times ffs. Its tedious bull****. The sessions/courses they do are always the same as before,, the good ol interview training,, now repackaged as interview techniques,, the same old stuff trotted out with maybe new buzzwords thrown in.
The solution is to stop importing people and stop procreating and stop building more housing with no jobs to go with them. You cant have more people than jobs and expect things to be ok.
or in over words they make you sit in front of a computer looking for work and when you do find work yourself they will take all the credit for finding you work and take payment from the government.
What is you thinking ?
so its the work programme dressed in sheep's clothing
Yes. I honestly believe its there entirely to trip people up. Health conditions I would strongly suggest you get medical evidence from the Doctors, because without it you'll be screwed over by them. Just saying you have a health condition is not going to be sufficient. And anyone long term unemployed is pretty much going to have to get a job if they want to stay in the system.
well that explains a lot
