OSRS Araxxor - Post 9/4/2024 Nerf - Thrall/DC Crossbow DWH - Iron very Friendly :)
Killing the new slayer boss Araxxor after the 9/4/2024 nerf. I don't like the change, enrage can really drag on, and it would be particularly rough for less geared players. I would like them to either increase the damage, or have the cleave damage apply to everywhere. It feels pretty not worthwhile to step on venom just to deal 10 damage to the boss.
With the longer enrage I prefer DWH over VW/Claws because you spend more time Scything on higher def.
As of 9/4 Death Charge works on the boss. SBS got pretty annoying so I switched to Arceus camp. Instead of venging the mirrorback I bring a Quiver+Sunlight Crossbow Moonlight Bolts (+ Rigour) switch to kill it instead. This also lets me kill the Ranger on a red start which is pretty QOL.

Once you get the hang of Tormented Demons they are very chill, I start with two mantas, get below average food drops, lose 100 HP to a lag spike, and still sustain the trip with SGS. Note that in a realistic TOA you would actually enter at ~95 run so this would be even more pronounced. Testing the new Run Energy beta, the run changes even at 99 agility are a sizable nerf at max carry weight (any realistic raid setup)

Just the Meleer waves from the Floor is Lava CA. I brought webweaver for longrange DPS vs melee respawns and it came in quite handy in the late waves, worth bring if you have it but definitely not essential. For the non-quiver users, this isn't going to work without the Quiver, sunlight bow misses the +1 max hit :).
Does it still only work on the SW tiles post patch? or all corners.
I did this with bandos and soul reaper axe + venator and virtus. No shadow, no scythe, no tbow and no torva. I did this also with red chins and inquisitor. I melee only the waves. Its possible with fang + whip and chins on boss.

AGS spec is pretty nice for healing too
You can take another step back to move rax with no tick loss so that he has 4 brand new sw tiles for you to work on, rinse and repeat. no need to make him cleave everywhere.

If anything cbow might be better cause you have a 3 tick weapon cooldown before you can attack with melee again and ballista is like 6 or something.

You don't need to tho, just walk 1 tile back before he raises his legs

Am i the only one who feels punished for being a poor and getting 4-5 spider spawns almost every kill. Enrage phase with 150+hp and the white spider spawns is so frustrating. Game is forcing me to figure out the sw tech that jagex themselves thinks is broken. 3 spawns max and no sw tech would be my dream.

You don't have to do that sw tech. Nobody is forcing you to do it. I personally only do it once per kill if I see the opportunity. I don't even position myself like Wizzy does in his video nor kill the white/green minion. Do whatever method feels the best for you regardless of gear lol

This is nice with the caveat that you need at least one piece of crush bonus (like inq) or the fun weapons will not max on the mirrorback (since all offensive styles are equal).

Elder maul spec increases dps from 12.5 to 13.5ish assuming max gear, would be even great dps increase in lower tiered gear. Can also use maul for mirror back spawns if using venge.

In what world is this video iron friendly
It's iron friendly because it doesn't utilise resources that are too timing consuming to replace (read: blood fury). For the gear you just do logical downgrades: - downgrade Inq to Torva to Bandos - downgrade scythe to SRA to Inq mace to bludgeon - etc Irons should never expect to match gear 1:1 because they'll generally be missing a piece here or there. But consumables are something all irons can largely agree upon for what is and isn't worth wasting on a slayer boss.
