It should be interesting to watch this some time if you got rid of the snare drum noise and cleaned up the video. eg: No awkward camera angles and attempts at camera artistry. Anyway, my cousin was there around 150 years ago and I have read his journals.
Music is anoying, great footage tho.
It's no wonder that the elders look at the young as being foolish and then remembering that they were young once. Life is wonderful when you're young and invincible.
Love the footage, wish I could just hear the river though.
WOW What a trip through some real ROCK GARDENS that make my rivers small streams.
All the millions of songs out there leave it too a Canadian too put this song on . No imagination 🙄
Maybe the best I have seen on the full Nahanni trip. I did this same route in 2000. High light of my canoeing career.
All nice. Really liked it at about 15:30 for a peelout and subsequent ride. Offside paddling made me want to stretch and get back into an oc1ww.
I noticed that whenever you hit whitewater you actively paddled forward, powering through. The safer and in a sense more elegant way is to use strategic backpaddling, reducing impact risks and diving into standing waves....
Nice report. Of course, you guys were using some fancy gear and equipment and paid dearly for access. See here how we had to do some of this in 1972: www.amazon.com/Canoeing-Little-Nahanni-South-Expedition-ebook/dp/B06XZPJ9KB/ref=sr_1_1?keywords=Little+Nahanni&qid=1560895860&s=gateway&sr=8-1
Was a true pleasure to watch. Awesome music. Cheers
Superb vid production of a stunning canoeing wild river trip.
1-how do you know there is no fall infront of you ? 2-how do you come back? isn't know upstream too hard ?
I really enjoyed that! Thank you
Wow! An adventure video done right! Which canoe were the guides..?
guides were from black feather:Ken in the red dry suit. Sarah in yellow dry suit, Paublo in blue dry suit. Sarah took lead canoe and ken tail guard for most of the rapids. Martin Ray(yellow dry suit) and Alanna Ray(blue dry suit) filmed the sequences on go pro and photos with canon rebel. Martin and Alanna are father and daughter team navigating the trip together. we were generally the second canoe in most rapid sequences. Taylor Macdougall is Alanna partner and provided the skill and effort in putting this video together.
thx for this impressing video! Is there anywhere something to read, a kind of a 'technical' report?
check with black feather guiding out of parry sound ontario
Everyone came home with their heads? Good good :)
There were a few tricky moments with canoes dumping with participants caught in the fast water and canoes floating down stream requiring valiant rescue activity by our guides.we all came home with our heads.
Thank you so much for the amazing chronicle of Alanna Ray and Martin Ray(daughter and father) trip of a life time!!!!
Fantastic Video and awesome f*ckin soundtrack. Those waves around 19:30 look like so much fun. I would love to see some more shots of the cabin that the Moores built.
great video, easily on the top5 canoeing vids on youtube, thanks for sharing this
