If you like sirens, this channel is for you! I mainly record sirens throughout Ohio, but I do occasionally record stuff out of state as well. I also make videos of fire alarms, as well as synths of sirens from scratch from time to time. If you enjoy my videos, be sure to like, comment, and subscribe!
Also, if anyone is interested, I have a 2nd channel for non-siren related stuff, although I don't post often on there.

Federal Signal STH-10 Siren | Noon Blast | Galena, IL | 6/4/24
Location: Galena Fire Department
System: N/A
Test time: Every weekday at noon
Enthusiasts present: Tommy (@buckeyenotifications)
After Morrison, we went to this STH in Galena for a noon blast. I've had this thing on my radar for a while now mainly because of the eye level shots and the incredible scenery surrounding it, and now I finally got the opportunity to film it. In addition to the amazing shots that you can get of this, it also has a Valley motor as an added bonus. Anyway, this went off right at noon, and it was pretty punchy being up on a hill about eye level with it. I think this is one of the best shots I've gotten in a while, and I'm very glad I was able to cross this off my list. Enjoy!
Tight shot: Panasonic Lumix DC-FZ80
Wide shot: Sony HDR-PJ710

Fun fact: this is an early version of the P-50! You can tell by the different erm "Bucket" horn design and s different arm design holding the siren to the rotator. Nice video!
Never seen a P-50 on that kind of mount
Glad to see this thing still soundin’!
Best recording of it by far.
Has anyone ever pinpointed an install date?
It was installed in July of 1982.
This fiddy looks old
This thing kicks ass
I’m sad
That shot is gold. The audio is crisp per usual. I noticed on the wide shot that your camera seems to be WAY higher than the others. How high was it?
The cameras you see in the wide shot are Tommy's. He was set up a little lower on the hill than I was.
@@Thunderbolt1000Tfan Oh well that makes sense.
dB reading?
It's prolly like 130 or something like that.
135DB Rating out the horn.
@@CentralALSirens Yeah, like it's loud af.
The reading I got from this was 127.2 dBC. I am somewhat skeptical of that reading, though, as the meter I'm using right now does have a history of reading higher than it should, and I've been to sirens that didn't hit as high that felt louder to me. There are also regulations that state that sirens shouldn't exceed 123 dB from the ground, although I'm sure there are some sirens that do exceed that.
0:17 it looks like another siren in front of the STH-10
If you're referring to the reddish-orange thing on the roof, that's a vent.
@@Thunderbolt1000Tfan oh I thought it was a model 2
That shot 😫🔥
Bangin video!
Wow amazing shot
The cyclone is still the loudest siren Ive heard in person. IMO it was louder than sirencons p-50.
Did they not have a safety barrier for the Cyclone at SC? Cause I have no doubt that Cyclones are loud as heck. I just still believe P-50s takes the cake.
@@Siren1000T1 I wasn’t at siren con when they had the cyclone. I have stood underneath two cyclones now and to me, my hearing protection barely worked. But the p-50 at siren con didn’t do that same. Maybe its just me.
@ACAFan101 That one I went to in Bensenville was impressively loud. When I stood under it, I couldn't dare to lift my hearing protection even for half a second. It could also be because with it being omni-directional, the sound stays more focused evenly.
@@Siren1000T1 Thats my thinking too. That omni directional really packs a punch up close.
Siren was vibrating so much it was drying it's top off if that's what I'm seeing.
Is there a second siren in the background or is that the siren making it?

The town & country looms.
Hello
Nice! New Bremen tests their 2001's in attack. Might have to go up there sometime.
Apparently it's not dead, unless the video below is a reupload czcams.com/video/Kik1G3S-udY/video.htmlfeature=shared
I'm the one who uploaded the video you just linked, and no, it is not a re-upload. I have no clue how it seemingly came back to life.
Was that the one from Riceville, IA or no?
I thought it burnt out
Awesome video! Being an aspiring church organist and pianist, I loved the hymns on those chimes too! For those curious they go by as the order heard. 1. Praise God from Whom all Blessings Flow 2. Love Devine, All Loves Excelling 3. Leaning on the Everlasting Arms 4. Bringing in the Sheaves
ok... seriously, whats the point of having this siren if they are never going to give it any maintanance, at this stage id wanna try and fix this poor thing if i had the chance, and iv never worked on a thunderbolt as im UK based, yet i still wanna 🙄😅 Awesome video though too!
It’s malfunctioning a little bit
How bruh this thing is crazy lol
Amazing!!!!
1:26 I couldn’t tell if the drivers were tweaking out or if it was the wind for a second……Rip dual tone analog whelen
This thing just doesn’t want to die. It probably still shakes the ground a little bit because of the low frequencies coming from the chopper.

JesusBolt
Sounds pretty good, but oh boy, that's banged up.
This siren thinks it's immortal 😂💀
How is it still functioning...
Juicy crispy scrumptious
I guess it just goes to show you that no matter how beat up the Thunderbolt sirens are, you can still at least trust them to keep running and running and running. And it still will shake the ground a little bit!
HOW
I'm surprised to see that this siren is still going.
I bet it shook the shit out of everything.
Always nice to see a Fedeldarley up and running again.
And now it sounds like a helicopter instead of a motorcycle lmfao
the blower itself could literally function as a siren, the thunderbolt is unnecessary 🤣
Wow i love this banshee and its reversed wired too since its a byticol rotor and stator it doesnt matter of which ones wired
This is a 2001-dc not a 2001-srn
They are the same thing. It says "2001-DC" on the rotator to refer to the fact that they have battery backup, but if you were to look at the actual tags on these, they're labeled as "2001-SRN". So it's really 2 names for the same exact siren, and the roundbacks were the first generation of these.
I tried recording it but it never went off
Whelen 612
