OMG you can tell us here people. Please hire me I can assist with content, with love 😅
This was so so helpful! I just returned from hospital to examine a lump in my throat area when I went to the doctor about my eczema. I was there 3 days and they concluded it’s not cancer and sent me home with very strong steroids in case my skin flared again. They attempted no diagnosis beyond that even though I begged for it. I came home distressed and depressed but YOUR video has revealed to me that EVERY symptom I have is TSW!!!! And the lump and swollen throat are edema from TSW! The temperature craziness the apparent allergies to my environment that are there one minute and gone the next day are TSW. I’m not goi g crazy! It’s real!! Thankyou Thankyou. So now what? How do I treat the unsightly lump in my throat area? I can’t move my head from side to side or lift it from my pillow except with my hands. I can’t cough without pain. My skin round my neck and down my chest seems to have lost it!/ elasticity? What do I do? Who in England understands this? Thankyou so much for giving me hope.
We are so glad to hear this video was so helpful for you!! We have more information on TSW on our website at nationaleczema.org/topical-steroid-withdrawal/. We also recommend visiting www.itsan.org/ as they are the leading nonprofit dedicated solely to supporting and providing resources to people with TSW. Unfortunately we aren't able to advise or recommend treatments regarding you neck/throat issues. Again, so glad to hear you found the video helpful and have hope. There's a community of people moving through these conditions alongside you and we are all here to support you in the best ways that we can 💙
How do you shave with facial eczema?
This is a great question! We'll add it to our list of question for ecz-perts to answer in our podcast segment, Eczema Answered!
I am 61. I came out “ higher than anyone the lab person has ever seen “ for Celiacs about five years ago. I was anemic my entire life. This is the second time the eczema has covered my face. I had it when I was a child. Going to try a good pre and probiotic and track any changes in my diet.
Oh wow, sounds like you're taking the right steps. We are wishing you the best on this tough journey 💙
pretty sure i would have been better off just not doing anything but basic hygiene to manage eczema.
💙 so many people experiencing TSW would likely agree with you!
Super helpful. Thank you very much. 🙏🏾🎶
So glad to hear you found it helpful! 💙 More resources and information on channel and website 💙
Thank you for this helpful panel discussion. 👏🏽

@@NationalEczema the problem is once you "get through it" you know you're going to be dealing with it AGAIN. There is no end 😞
@@21972012145525 It's true, eczema is a chronic condition. We wish it wasn't!
I am a kid with eczema and I have had it since a baby. It really helps me to see that I'm not the only person who suffers from this, and not the only person who has once hated their skin, always getting weird looks and people asking "whats that on your face". Thank you for spreading awareness and love! ❤
Thank you for sharing these words! It's always so good to be reminded that we're not alone
Thank you for sharing
Which medicine you said to use for very itchy eye lid please write name dr, my hearing not good so it will be helpful if you could write name of medicine I could use on eye lid eczema thanks
Hi there! Many medications were mentioned, a few include topical PDE4, Elidel and tacrolimus
Dr my forehead had rash two year back after cataract surgery I had scratched a lot now forehead is blackish itchy but sometimes on left side and on left I have itchiness on head and white flex
Interesting that it popped up after cataract surgery!
I have this blackish forehead since two years after eczema never goes away this discoloration. Is this could be lyporspy
I had rash on neck dr now spread to shoulder some in back some in abdominal area some on lips around ear .
Sounds like it could be eczema!
Thanks
Very interesting and helpful! Thanks. I am 79 years old and have had eczema off and on for the past 10 years or so. This year, I have been having a terrible time with eczema on my foot and leg. The foot got so bad that, especially on the heel, the skin would get so thick and flake off, but because it was so thick and dense, the skin underneath was very sensitive and extremely painful to walk on! I sort of put my life on hold because I never knew if I was going to be able to walk comfortably or not. I would have to bandage my foot heavily to be more pain free. Later on, the eczema went to my face. It got so bad that my face was completely swollen, by eyes and mouth wouldn't open fully and I literally looked like a monster!!! (That was on my 79th birthday!). Finally went to a good dermatologist after that and was prescribed steroid creams, which I didn't want to take, but it did clear things up pretty quickly. I also used Ibuprofen which took care of the swelling. Had to go back on the steroids again when it came back, more on my face this time, but without the horrible swelling. It is not just on my eyes and mouth, but especially on the edges of my face, some on my cheeks and chin and also on my neck. I have had bad teeth for a long time and am now in the process of getting everything fixed up, but it is going to be months. (All my teeth need to be pulled!). I do believe that the tooth problems have messed up my immune system and that the eczema will not resolve itself until the problem with the teeth is resolved. (Dentist agrees with me.). Is there anything you would suggest that would help me out for the next month or two to help clear things up a bit? (My foot and leg are healed up pretty well now. It's just my face and neck that bother me now. I've done another two weeks of the Clobetasol recently, but it didn't seem to do much at all. this time. (I was off of it for over two weeks.)
When you say “ skinny “ on TSW , how long are we gonna encounter weight loss issues and can someone share their weight loss experiences ??? It’s so draining that on top of all the skin issues , you look kinda dead with all the weight loss .. also , even when the skin is improving , why is that body denies to gain weight back ?
"The Skinny" is a play on words. The term means "the truth." This webinar doesn't address the weight loss that can occur with TSW.
Extremely helpful 👍 Thank you Doctor🙏
Iam not using any chemicals products from my childhood , but iam Suffering from eczema around my mouth for seven months, dr. prescribed Tacroz ointment, i applying every night very little amount only, if i try to stop it comes again. My question is can i continue this ointment?

Can you clarify your question? What is it you're referring to?

So so tough 💙 and people tell us it's "just a rash" 😑
This is soo true, I didn’t have eczema before and only got it this year but I have already been through so much at first I didn’t even know what it was so I just scratched it but that caused somw bad eczema in some places and it takes rlly long to heal so yeah it sucks

@@NationalEczema why make these videos then? What's the point of I have to do more research. M
Excellent explanation of the whole process. Thank you so much! I am just now getting an appointment with a good acupuncture/chinese herbalist . I don't want to do steroids! I had an emergency situation recently where they did prescribe steroids. Yes they cleared it up, but just a few days after I got off the steroids, it flared up again. I don't want a bandaid. I want to HEAL the underlying cause!
So glad to hear you found this helpful! Wishing you luck and ease on this difficult eczema journey 💙

Very interesting
Same here brother. Haven’t dated in 4 years cuz I been dealing with my eczema!
💙 dating with eczema is so tough. We believe in love, you will find someone!
I literally notice as soon as I get stressed my face literally peels I'm likeeee noooo now how can I act natural 😂😂😂😂 but that's why I don't wear mascara anymore or haven't been because my eyelids did that after I had it on for some hours
Ahh the face peeling! So not fun. Mascara (and makeup in general) can be tricky for people with eczema!
My mum tells me this all the time it never works🫤
So it goes with eczema! That itch is insatiable!
I bet I have at least 4 types at one time on the shoulders, arm, scalp and ankles. I have extreme sensitivity to hard water which inflames my scalp and face.
Amen and Amen 🙏
Coffee/caffeine killed my skin! My eczema is on a power trip right now

Yep i 🤔 all of this is true
So glad you found it relatable!

Good discussion thankyou
Which one?????????????????
Which one what?
Hi there, My symptoms are somewhere in between you explanaition. I had first simptom, pain on my eyelids and a bit swallow then after few days bottom left eyelid starts to dry and peel off, then after 1 week i start to have top of my eye under eyelashes had dry out skin and similar with dandruff and if i peel of it will get red inflamed and had burning sensations, not itchy. Is that contact dermatitis based on allergy? The doctor said is a form of allergic trigger that trigger eczema. I also had on neck hands and foots, but those were itchy. They triggered at 41 yo :).
Unfortunately we aren't able to offer a diagnosis. We have plenty of information about contact dermatitis on our website if you were interested in learning more: nationaleczema.org/eczema/types-of-eczema/contact-dermatitis/
This is terribly painful, i too suffer from severe eczema.
Sending you love 💙 Eczema is no joke.
Also have severe eczema, and have had same hand eczema for a while, luckily it’s not so bad atm, but the rest of the body is still there, try soaking them in black tea or coffee, no cure but it does reduce the inflammation. Also I found that papaya really helps when rubbed on eczema, try it on a small patch and see if it helps. But always try anything natural in small doses just to make sure you don’t react. Wishing you better 🙂
I know the suffering and aggrevation you are going through. People that see it cringe also because they don't know what it is and that causes a phobia. I Had it on my hands for years. Couldn't even bend my fingers without them bleeding. My doctor told me to put my medicine on them and wrap my hands in plastic bags every night. It did clear up and eventually got rid of it on my hands. But I have had severe eczema all my life somewhere on body at all times on and off. Hope you find some relief someway.
💙 thank you for sharing your experience!
I want to reverse the reaction, not take another drug that will lead to other side effect down the road.
Heard! Unfortunately there is no cure for eczema at the moment. There are many treatments, both prescription and natural/holistic available that you can read about on our website! Finding and avoiding triggers is also a great way to avoid eczema flares.
