I just subscribed. Does “Sarge” imply former military? You remind me of the almost all retired vet neighborhood I grew up in in San Antonio. Love your gear, great taste in equipment.

@@MixMatchStereo I appreciate your service. I’ve been collecting audio equipment my entire life. My first piece of gear was from a Vietnam vet who lived 2 doors down and had purchased a Sansui receiver “overseas” with matching turntable, reel to reel deck and speakers. I used to cut his grass and do odd jobs to earn $10 or $15. He was a great man. I would see him from time to time listening to music in his small “listening room” and he would take the time to invite me in and play a song or two for me-Miles, Ellington, Mingus and some fusion too. Changed my life. Taught me how to properly hold a record, care for my stylus, store my albums upright. Summer of my 14th year he “gifted” me his old system on the condition that I take care of it, polish the cabinet and cover it when not in use. RIP Rudolph Jones, Sr.

I might recommend a commercial kitchen prep table for your gear. Mine is 72 inches wide with a stainless top on 30 inch pipe legs on casters with six inch rubber wheels. You can customize the shelving. I roll it in and out to vacuum, dust, change wiring.

Nice. I have a PrimaLuna Evo400 integrated amp with the stock PrimaLuna EL34 tubes. My question to you is….Why did you chose the KT150’s over either the KT88 or KT120’s? And more importantly,What was the sonic difference between the EL34 vs the KT150 you experienced? PS. I am glad you have a sturdy table because those two amp probably weigh over 150 pounds. 👍🏾😂
@brianlewis5042 Sturdy table is definitely required, I fell in love with the KT 150 with the Audio Research amplifier, that's the reason I wanted to try them in the PL, I'm glad that I did, what I've been hearing for the last couple of days is very pleasing, I always ran the El 34s in ultraliner mode because triode seemed a little too soft for me, but triode mode on the KT 150, wow,,ultraliner whole new level, still getting used to the new sound, I don't think that I will be going back to the el 34s.

Great vid, Sarge! What a killer, system! I love Modwright gear. There’s just something that sounds right about it. I think my perfect system would likely be a full Modwright one. The types of amps, tubes, preamps, etc. is pretty much the same if I designed a system, and I mean a lot of little details, SS POWER AMP, LS100 pre w/6sn7’s, phono stage also beautifully designed. Thanks, Sarge! Great stuff.

@palmbeachcane9523 My bass is right on, if you want more bass put them closer to the rear wall, my bass is perfect, and accurate, depends on the listeners, I'm very satisfied with the bass.

What recording device do you use to capture the sound coming out of those Fortes? I think they are fortes. I watched an interview Miles gave in his home late in his life. He had a dark living room. The only light came from these dim wall sconces. He said was still an addict and He liked low light where he could relax and listen to music. The interviewer then began patronizing miles and asked, is it because black people suffered that they can play jazz blues so well? Miles said, my mommas good looking, my daddy is French, and I can play the blues. I have never suffered and dont intend to suffer. He was very abrasive and almost scary to watch as a young boy. Anyway, Its summertime! Im digging the CD Stanley Clarke/Stanley Clarke. It is so good. I had never heard it before. It absolutely fantastic.
They are Forte IV speakers and I'm recording with a Tascam Portacapture x8, Miles is the Man.

Sounds great! My best system (La Scalas on DIY steroids) is a 3.1-way active system and it sounds fabulous by all accounts. Someday I'll do a 3-way multiamp system with my Forte 1s. Expecting great results.

If you have time try connect the tweeter to wjere you dont get the equal8zed signal. Trust me on this you will hear a differance if you j8st run a 10 watt amp to the tweeters seperate from the eq.
