Respect to the Pompey fans. To travel that distance in those numbers says a lot. On another day, with the amount of the ball we had, Boro would and should have won the game, but your lads battled hard and your keeper had a great game, despite being injured early on. If you play with that intensity all season, you’ll do well in this league.

Great video as always. Just one correction, everyone keeps saying that Leeds and Luton are Premiership sides but actually they are not. They are both Championship sides as are we, so we should not look at other teams like that. There are a lot of Championship teams that will play like Premiership sides and many that will play like League 1 sides. We need to win these games no matter who our opponent is.

In the end frustrating we couldn’t take advantage of the extra player, but a draw at home to Luton ain’t so bad.

Great vlog, enjoyed watching it. First day of the season and its a cracker, however a word of caution, the effort and commitment your players showed was admirable, the question is can they replicate that throughout the season ? You won't score 3 out of 5 often, (our keeper has a shocker for your first, and that gives you confidence) however it's no exaggeration to say Leeds should really of had 6 (at least 2 after you went 3-2 up). We created gilt edge chances that we couldn't take on the day!! Absolutely enjoy the euphoria of the first day result and the commitment of the team, but also be mindful you gave away the opportunity for the opposition to have 22 shots of which 10 were on target. It is a step up, you might just have played Leeds and then Luton next week (possibly as they may be wounded after last night) at the right time before they get in to their stride!! Outstanding fans, certainly the best in a long time at ER, all the best for the rest of the season and see you in March...MOT

Good shout bish with 3-3. Like you said that first 10 minutes. The step up looked massive and I was thinking this could be a long season but as we got into it and kept that never say die attitude from last season. Great first game and great result in the end. Play up pompey!
