I love the last verse, it sounds as if someone was told an obscure, fantastic, long lost part of history about why the world is covered in giant footprints because of a single man with an army of monsters, in an era where giants existed, but then that person finds the tree and interacts with the same person who committed those acts thousands of years ago, being told how it actually happened and not to follow his steps; and that melancholic guitar in the back just elevates it even more

Oh wow. This came out of nowhere! Not that I would be opposed to it, but a "different story" being told would be interesting! I don't think this confirms anything new like some people would believe. I'm just here to enjoy the music and the story that was told.

The architecture and symbols embedded within remind me somewhat of Nordic designs. Fitting for a story inspired by Norse mythology, to a degree. Also, I wonder what's in the background behind the building (statue?) at 3:54-3:56. The statue in the foreground is worn and withered, but behind it is an explosively colorful vista of sorts from what I can see. Regardless of this, as per usual Yamamoto delivers. I'm going to go off on a limb here and say this is one of the best songs composed in relation to the story, full stop. Lyrically reminiscent of old tales as warnings, passed down from generation to generation, was an inspired choice. Fits in with the story being a "new drama" of sorts for the modern era. And the musical composition to accompany it is excellent. Gives it both a sense of foreboding hopelessness, before setting a tone of reaching out for a desperate hope.

I’m surprised that I anticipated a Bday present that shares the leitmotif during the ashes on the fire sequence, I think it was around the S4 episode 16 that had its peak. I think I hear some of the beginning chorus of Footsteps of Doom

Something that felt missing in the final season ost were the songs with vocals. I like Shock a lot but this as the ending 6 would be great
