Hi Anne! Watching your replay and heard you mention the 17 year things.. so I looked it up: Not all cicadas emerge every 17 years. Some periodical cicadas emerge every 13 years, while others emerge every 17 years, depending on the species. These cicadas spend most of their lives underground as immature insects, emerging for a few weeks every 13 or 17 years to molt into adults, mate, lay eggs, and then die. The babies then hatch and return underground, only to reappear in another 13 or 17 years. Oh, the Grimm brothers published old folktales, so, they didn't make up the stories.. just retold them (and probably made some changes) to what they had heard. Who knows how far back the stories go! Wonderful stream Anne! Great sketchbook flip through, demo of upside down drawing and chicken drawing! I also worked through the Drawing on the Right side of the brain probably 35 years ago and remember it being a great learning experience. I also enjoyed seeing all your reference books. I will have to look up that Toby guy, I especially enjoyed seeing your version of his style. Tfs

You didn't finish your story: what happens when you don't spend at your restaurant there? Do they have take out so you can heat it up at home? I do find it weird that you live in a community where you are obliged to spend a certain amount at a restaurant. What if you have special diet wishes, restrictions etc?
If you don’t spend the minimum you are charged for that amount. Yes you can get take out and they will accommodate diet restrictions. It’s called the Indian River Colony Club and it was developed by a group of retired military officers. There are about 750 homes in here. I have lived since 2000.

Anne when I was married, my ex husbands great uncle used to make rockets by cutting aluminum cans and riveting pieces together and installing a small engine to make them fly, depending on the size of the engine would make it fly higher. He also made models of various types of old and modern Planes with the soda cans. He loved flying and belonged to a group called Flying Farmers of America. Thank you for sharing.

Loved the flip through of your postcards! Super cool octopus lady (reminded me of the dolls head/spider toy from Toy Story 1 made by the kid next door). Day 7 background reminds me of the map of North America with the Great Lakes. I am really enjoying Robyn’s folded books series (they are also on my “to do list” and you did a great job making that one today! Fun lettering too. You got a lot done today!!!
