Keith Branagan saves a Reading penalty just before half time. Would have made the score 3-0 to Reading and practically game over. Without this save, Bolton Wanderers would not be where they are today.
jos on löysä on löysä
Great tackle!
Most beautiful jersey of Bolton
He's my teacher
If Jimmy Quinn had a took that penalty my life would've been better.
McGinlay doesn't skin defenders but when he does.....
ha ha ha!! 18 January 2014!! Reading 7- 1 Bolton Love it!!
Keith Branagan is my uncle
BWFC good times . Chic
De freitas was shit when he came to Albion.
Quality player DeFreitas was in his time. He was so strong. He scored another in this match from the floor despite being surrounded by players. Didn't score enough goals really, but was a strong strong player.
Still hate Bolton to this day...only game I've ever cried at
"Hello...is that Mr Potter, of the Phoenix Club" "Yeah...Who's this? It's half three in the pissing morning..." "It's Mixu Paatelainen"
@IdleAl Yeah well guess what. He's my dad
You've waited three years to be able to say this... you've been very patient!
yep pretty sure - lolz on you Bolton!
god thas my footy coach lol
@ciderdudey yep the Burden park days were the best i wish i could see another game there never will we repeat those days there
A hero for killie!
Still the best Bolton game ive ever been to ..Watching them for 35 years nothing comes close to that game ..

Were our fans singing 'you'll never walk alone'?
Best Playoff game...EVER!
aye i must admit i was ready for leaving when the penatly was givien against us! WHAt a fantastic game this was
the best game i have ever been to!!
anyone know what hapend to thommo after he went to celtic, where is he now , he was a super guy
this was a great ere for me , met jason and alan and john mcginley , great days
@LittleLeeHere It all happens for a reason Lee, we've had our playoff final heartaches aswell but its all about making the most of the chance and i really think if you played anyone else in the division that day, you'd have beaten them - including champions Middlesbrough.
@Nicatootee Oh wow, is he? Poppleton right?
@Nicatootee He probably was your PE teacher if you went to a primary school in York since he worked there in 2005 / 2006. :)
recorded this match on videotape because i knew it would be a great game, wasnt home that day. dont even support either team, but still have the tape.
I went to this game, we was going to leave if Reading had scored their penalty. An amazing game, and amazing memories.. :D
@dudparty It's all changed now!
@mikeygeeuk I'm a Reading fan and I never watch Reading pens!
Well done Fab!
LMHAO sack coyle now save your club
was there too.when the penalty was saved it was like a wave of belief went round the fans and the players.was strange to feel happy about being 2 nil down at halftime.
judas
He's coming home, he's coming home, he's coming, COYLE'S COMING HOME!
Maybe he's just about to become the best thing to happen at Bolton for a while!
I'm not the type to get snobby at all cos I remember the away days at Crewe and Gillingham (though they are now Scunthorpe and Peterborough) but I do think Boro will find it a long road back to the top......... however you may be better for it, as we may be in the long run. As long as you don't implode like a Leeds or Norwich you may well re-build a new, much-stronger ship than the boring same-old shit you left the Prem with. And you get some ace away days to boot.
tbh reading should of ran with it but they had there legs taken away , i was over joyed to see us finaly hit the prem but felt sorry for reading aswell , well the fans anyway
isnt he a abadeen manager now
i never tire of wathing this match its just got twists and turnes threw the mins
I was deeply dissapointed as well, but looking back, this may have been the best thing to happen to Reading FC, we had more years to improve and have now become a force
This was the first game i watched that truely broke my heart, i still remember the disappointment to this day. BLUE ARMY
Can relate to you Ambia, I'd only been following the Whites about 10 months myself then (was 8 at this point). Awesome game, looks like you'll probably come back up. And Tidusmi I don't really care what you say about relegation battles I'm fuckin proud of where we are right now. 1987 we were in division four losing to Wrexham 4-0. I'm pretty damn grateful.
To be fair, I've no idea why we're singin that, maybe it was something to do with the fact we'd played you in the League Cup Final there a few weeks before, not sure. But guys don't get into a spelling debate for Christs sake, we're still in the Premiership and Liverpool have a manager who probably can't even spell thieving himself so we're all happy eh!
Oh you've gone and bloody spoiled it now havent ya!
watched this match almost spilled my beer onmyself , it the one match that sticks in my memory aprt from ther last game at burndon park , super whites forever
