BSA bobber. A bitsa Tribsa
Built from whatever I could find. The frame is a Triumph 1950, the wheel hubs Triumph and the rims 16" drop centre. Front end is a Mid West springer. Pipe is stuck together from old bends. Seat off ebay. Indian made Trumpie rear guard , cut down. 30mm Amal concentric carb. Motor is basic B33 BSA about 7-1 compression. Belt primary is pre-unit Triumph, BSA pre-unit single engines have the same spline on the engine as Triumph. Oil tank is Triumph 47-48? Fuel tank may be BSA? Engine is last era B33 and has been modified to carry Pazon ignition. Easy starting with electronic ignition advance curve.

Big Red 850cc Triumph with E Start
zhlédnutí 1,7KPřed 2 měsíci
The E Start conversion on this bike is supplied by Shropshire Classics in the UK. Quite an easy job. Push button Brit Classic bike. Good thing for a dicky knee. It has been a great cruising bike since I first built it from bits collected and now is even better.
BSA A65 Clayton Veteran, B33 Tribsa and Supercharged T110 Triumph Projects

The T110 is a collection of bits as are the other 2 projects. The frame on the non matching built T110 was badly twisted and shoddily repaired so I did a little less of a shoddy repair to make it useful. Found a few bits ,bought the Aisin on ebay and got this far. The B33 similarly is built from bits, roughed up a header pipe, I have forward controls for it and hope to have a runner soon. The C...
BSA Goldstar electric start

Took a while but I finally got around to fitting the Pearsson UK made EStart. As you can see it does a good job. Takes a bit of mucking about to fit and the electrics need to go 12v Neg ground. I fitted a 12v 12amp gel battery with minimum fuss in the original battery holder as it is very similar in size to the old 6v rubber case battery. I had the genny rewound to 12v neg. Thye kit includes a ...
Triumph 5 speed gearbox retrofitted to early unit or pre-unit cases
zhlédnutí 1,2KPřed 8 měsíci
I have tried to give some ideas on how to retrofit a 5 speed cluster into earlier 4 speed cases of the Triumph 650 unit. This works for both pre-unit 500 and 650 as well. A pre-unit 500 with a 5 speed is a great conversion. Not suitable for the 350-500 unit models. Hope this helps. I have it in written form on my site, www.bmcmotorcycles.com
Triumph 90/270 828cc pre-unit engine .
zhlédnutí 394Před 8 měsíci
This engine is for my pre 1962 P3 road race Tribsa sidecar. A 90/270 Norton crank in a pre-unit engine using ARE big bore barrels and 9 stud head with custom tapered manifolds. All thru bolted.
Norton Commando 1971 thru 1977 Oil tank mounting
zhlédnutí 175Před 8 měsíci
Just a little video describing how I like to mount the oil tank in later Commandos. By using a better top mount than normally supplied as a factory replacement and after repairing any cracks in the bottom lug, I turn the bolt into a screwed in pin and use a new grommet to locate but not tighten in place.
BSA 1914 side valve single engine Desaxe
zhlédnutí 80Před 8 měsíci
A short description of a Desaxe BSA engine. Many early 1900 motorcycle engines used this as a way of reducing piston slap. Maybe because most used cast iron for the piston as aluminium was not yet considered suitable? This design helped with piston slap at TDC and increased dwell at TDC. Check out Driving for Answers for a better explanation This is to show you what he didn't, an actual Desaxe ...
tribsa 750cc ex race
zhlédnutí 301Před 9 měsíci
I rode this after building it from bits. I did about 4 race meetings but my knee stopped play. I was rehashing it for sale as a street bike and Brian bought it. He fitted a 750 kit which I did have on when I raced but removed when building for sale. He fitted a 5 speed as I had also removed the one I fitted for racing. He has done lots of other work and now has a nice little semi caff '60 pre-u...
Triumph 650 drag bike 1950
zhlédnutí 556Před 11 měsíci
I collected bits for many years and finally got the chance to fire it. Bit of fuel dribbling from carb but seems good so far. 80 psi oil pressure. Built from mis matched cases with the T/Side bearing bored to take hi-cap 6306 ball to suit the 750 crank. Rods are MAP H beam steel , pistons 11-1 Powermax Hepolite and cams are T140 inlet with 1mm more lift. Joe Hunt mag and 38mm MK 2 amal round ou...

This is a bike I used a lot in the mid '80 to '92. Then again a bit more 2011 to 2015. I then ripped the M20 sidevalve motor out and started the changes to where it sits now. The bike was not a matching number and I have sourced an M20 frame for the original engine for another bike. The motor has an M21 114 stroke? crank which needed some work to the timing side axle. I found a new pin and a su...
Atlas 76 deg Norton so far

Still building it. The all black Atlas. I expect it to be a bit of a blast. Last time I showed the 76 deg crank on the table. It is now in the cases and into a roller. An 872cc 5 speed Atlas with double discs.

I built this thing about 15yrs ago slowly after just gathering a big pile of stuff. It is an ESO speedway engine 88mm bore x 85 stroke 500cc. 14-1 compression on Methanol. I ordered a new frame based on the 1963 Manx in chr/moly. The gearbox is a cheapie Triumph 5 speed a fraction of the cost of clusters made in NZ or UK. the primary is Triumph based on pulleys made by myself with the help of a...
Norton 850 ES Nevawozz
zhlédnutí 223Před rokem
As I've mentioned before this bike is built from bits found. Makes a good rider proving a bike doesn't have to be a matching number to do all the expected things. Pre MK3 and MK3 bits collected over a few years and a useable bike built. Suits me. Love the starter. It could go another tooth taller but I'm not going to ride across the Nullabor. Sorry about the noisy video.
