Very Ez
Now, Nalbandian never won a single Major but his technique was better than Rafas
The existence of the Big Four is a tragedy for other players, especially a very talented player like Kei Nishikori. He played really well in this match. Unfortunately, as long as Nadal is in good shape, there is an unbridgeable gap for Kei.
WOW. Total different players from 2004 to 2011.
Imagine nadals career without the injuries every other year.
4 incredible returns at the end to close it out 💪
2011 Nadal on his peak in 25 yo. 25 Yo is the peak of almost every excellent tennis players and footballers ,you name it, Messi 91 scores in 25, Maradona won 1986 World Cup in 25, Federer almost unbeatable in 2006 when he’s 25, nova winning streak in 25,………
Roddick doesn't seem to know how to play it short ...
How good Nadal but he lost to Joker in final that’s why Djoker is The GOAT
This win meant so much to Rafa!
He pulled out the lawnmower after 3rd set!!
I can't believe Djokovic beat this monster
Verdasco with Djokovic mental would be unstoppable
Roddick game is so average. His forehead is like amateur tennis players. He doesn’t have variety of tennis skills besides serve. Roddick wouldn’t chase the balls, and he is very lazy player
as an absolute tennis noob, why was Roddick feeding Nadal "easy" balls to he middle of his baseline while Nadal was angling his consistently? Also, he rushed to the net several times and was getting exposed over and over, just why?
I don´t see any IQ from Roddick in this game ...
Roddick really screwed up when he got rid of Brad Gilbert as coach. After he lost that powerful forehand he was never the same.
Never seen Rafa hit harder
Verdasco was a strange player. Here he won Nadal for the third time in their last four matches. Including different surfaces. Not too long before he was swearing in Spanish in challenger tournaments.
Who is here gain in 2024 after Andy Roddick's words on Nadal?
This Berdych would have his way with Sinner, Alcaraz and the rest of today's youngsters.
The first set is up there with the best ones Nadal has ever played
Better forehand than Gonzalez?
somebody ask roddick to comment about this on his served podcast, he got obliterated here. It looks like different tiers of players
15:43
Not for nothing but Roddicks volley technique had almost always been bad.He just couldnt make it be efficient / outside the Wimby surface when it was still fast/.
Every shot that was hit in this match was the closest thing I've seen to perfection 👌
6:13
Ferrer was tough to play against, he chased so many balls down, always in great shape.....his game was suited for all surfaces. fun to watch
Troicki played much better than Nadal and deserved to win but choked
Roddick was never good at the net. all his volleys were lame shots that bounced right in front of his opponent. When Federer volleys at the net, they are going to either side, or either corner.
The only thing i like watching Roddick play is his serve, and nothing else. Dude has no footwork, no strategy and strokes. At 3:53 he had so much time to run forward to take the ball early but bad footwork renders him a missed opportunity, but still the ball was short and he can still hit from way inside the baseline. However, of all the shots he can make, from a drop shot to a powerful flat shot to try for a winner, dude does a slow topspin forehand with a terrible angle that opens himself up to a passing shot.
Roddick was almost retired at that point (1 year prior to his official retirement actually), injuries at the beginning of the year didn't allow him to move anymore or to have a descent baseline, so yeah that serve and volley strategy was basically a desperate move. You can check 2010 season and in the two matches they had (which both were very closed) there were good baseline rallies
Verdasco forehand technique is like a lefty alcaraz. So good
In Andy roddicks podcast about nadal Indian wells, this forehand at 2:08 was what he was talking about 😂
Nishikori Played Fantastical, Wasn’t a Easy Match For Nadal ,
Talk about a guy having your number down 2 sets and a break before you hit your first winner.
11:07 Nadal in god mode 21:07
This is verdasco’s best match what a win
Call a good play...repeat.
Yes it was extremely hi level from both players to see a match like this we have to wait maybe 10 years or more to watch a match like that
Isner winning this would have meant Roger’s second RG
Once i stopped wearing a cap and wore a headband i found it impossible to wear a cap again. It feels so restrictive
He had the the talent, not the believe. Verdasco should have been a better rated player in his prime. He is lefty with an incredible forehand.
Despite Isner's game of his life, look at the scorecard from Rafa 6,6,6,6,6 he is so tough to play I guess, no matter why he is goat🐐
