This was absolutely (totally) peppered (riddled) with blatant errors (obvious mistakes). In some cases the given answer was just plain wrong. Ie. Q2 Persistent is a reasonable synonym for Steadfast, the others all mean ephemeral. The given answer was ‘Transient’! In other questions, the answer was ambiguous, ie. Q17 See, where the best match is probably Observe, but the given answer, Look, is right for some uses of the words. Similarly, Q11 Pass, which obviously has loads of meanings, one of which is Die, and Q25 Turn, with its plethora of definitions, where a case could be made for all four options!! And Q37 Bitter (an adjective) is not a synonym of any of the given options (all nouns). Acrimonious, not Acrimony was wanted (or change Bitter to Bitterness). Again, Q34, Stupid not a good match for Idiot, usually a noun, except rarely an attributive adjective (Idiot Wind, my idiot uncle). In short, the whole test was fundamentally flawed… Profoundly imprecise… Deeply defective.

Question: #12: Answer A also would be grammatically and logically correct #14: The correct phrasing would be "She was doing her homework..." #16: Answer A also grammatically correct. #22: Rephrase to read either "I am thinking about (or "of") finding..." #28: "haven't seen", not "haven't see" #31: None are correct. The correct answer would be either "would you", "could you", "will you." #34: Answer A also grammatically correct. #36: Answer C also grammatically correct. #37: Rephrase to read "She asked me if I wanted to come to her house for dinner."

Question: #1: The correct phrase would be "for an hour." #4: Answer B would be correct, if the sister was being politely offered some chocolate. #5: If present tense is intended, then answer B. #9: "anyone" us singular, so the only correct answer is A. #14: Answer C would also be correct, if the brother were politely being offered some pizza. #16: Answer C also grammatically and logically correct -- past tense. #18: Answer A also grammatically and logically correct -- past tense. #19: Answer B also correct. #23: The phrasing "all afternoon" seems to imply that we are looking back in time, in which case answer C or D would be correct. #26: Answer A would be a far more common and accepted expression. If we delete the word "yesterday" then perhaps answer D would be correct. #29: Answer A also grammatically and logically correct. #36: As phrased, only answer A is correct. For answer C to be correct, the sentence would have to read "Have you finished..."

Respectfully, a few observations. Question 2: The correct answer is C, absolutely. All other choices are antonyms. Question : The correct answer is A, absolutely. Question 7: When used as a noun, answer A. When used as a verb, answer B. (A liberal application of . sunscreen) Question 10: Highest Importance Question 11: D also correct. Question 16: None correct. "Exponent" defined as "the power to which a number or expression is raised." Question 17: A also Question 22: Answer A or D also. For example: He needs to contain his enthusiasm. Question 24: None correct. A correct synonym would be "necessary." Question 38: C also.

Persistent is not synonymous with transient. I stopped after the second question. Persistent is dogged and determined while transient is mobile, in the process of change.

37/40 I think a couple could have two answers. Just my opinion.

Enjoyed the test. I do believe, however, that certain questions would allow for an alternate answer. Question: #8: It is also possible for one to be dressed shabbily or smartly. 10: Rephrase to read "The father lovingly kissed HIS daughter's forehead." #18: "anywhere" would also be a common term. #26: Either "the girl goes" or "the girls go." Also, answer D very possible.

Respectfully, I do believe there are a number errors in your test. Many sentences are phrased in such a way as to grammatically and logically allow for more than one answer.
