Does anyone know what Introit or Scripture reading this is? I love it!
This our our recessional hymn this morning at my parish’s Latin mass!
The descant was also very nice!
Magnificent!!
As an Irish Anglican/Episcopalian, this is beautiful. Thank you!
I feel so blessed that I attended many worship services there. in 1997 my Episcopal church's whole choir attended the All Saints' Day service. The Cathedral Choir was not singing that day, so my choir was invited into the choir loft to sing the entire service. I was over the moon about having been able to do that.
The closer the denominations get to the most holy Catholic Church the more beautiful!!! Coincidence? I think not!! Deo Gratias!!!
A favourite of mine always
The organ at are church needs fixed so CZcams is the best I got for hearing organ music
Played this hymn on the great pipe organ of St. Marks cathedral.I'm a self taught organist.
Beautiful voice , need more volume on voice !!!!
Please let the voice be heard more !!!
❤ Beautifull
As always, fantastic pipe organ. Congregation, and others sing with joy.

Fantastic organist . Beautiful arrangement.
Lovely Cantor. Amen and amen
Fantastic organist with the King of instruments
Rest in Peace, Jim Litton, great man, great musician, great leader of music in the Episcopal church. This hymn by Erik Routley was commissioned in Jim's honor, and the tune is called LITTON. 1 November 2022. All Saints Day.
Here I am Lord kneeling before your throne I hasten to before the dawn each day to give thanks 🙏 and praises to Your name Glory Alleluia Amen 🙏
It sounds like there is one person singing.
Who wrote this?
Love love love this hymn, especially when sung to the welsh tune of Blaenwern.
As being an alumni of this choir I will say the boys have never been as loud or as good as many cathedrals in england. But I do think it the placement of the speekers which are always at the back behind the tenors so that is why they are overpowering the boys
If you're listening to this amazing piece, wondering if there is a Jesus- He is real. He is complete, tender love and He wants to know you. Look for Him and you'll easily find Him.

Come into me Jesus🥺🙏🏽
at the end of the day, we answer to the same higher power, we just percieve different interpretations of it. why not just respect each other's views?
I watch their services just to hear the hymns! Sheer joy.
This was played at the funeral of firefighter Michael Davis
O God of Bethel, by whose hand thy people still are fed; who through this earthly pilgrimage hast all our fathers led: Our vows, our prayers, we now present before thy throne of grace: O God of Israel, be the God of their succeeding race. Through each perplexing path of life our wandering footsteps guide; give us each day our daily bread, and raiment fit provide. O spread thy covering wings around, till all our wanderings cease, and at our Father's loved abode our souls arrive in peace! Such blessings from thy gracious hand our humble prayers implore; and thou shalt be our covenant God and portion evermore.
As a priest, I can tell you that an excellent cantor can lead an entire congregation in singing! Fr. Bill
Agreed
A good organist that can play hymns can lead a congregation in singing this. When I have been in a cantor situation, the people let the cantor sing and they listened.
I remember singing this hymn in our morning devotion in school. What a treasure.
This is indeed a great hymn.
"Try to remember the kind of September ..." It turns out that Harvey Schmidt's grandfather was a Methodist minister, so he probably did hear "Hyfrydol" many times while growing up.
Fabulous organ!
What a useless cantoress! Beginning of the third phrase of the first verse she starts to double the tempo! (0:57')

Thank you Heavenly Father for your Great Love for all of mankind, by giving us your greatest gift, your one and only Son our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ to die for our sins.
An absolutely breathtaking rendition. The cantor’s voice along with the organ trembles my heart and brings me tears.
This has always been my favorite hymn and will be sung at my wedding next year on April 30 at a beautiful Episcopal church in Richmond, VA. I'm so excited!!
Too much organ for such feeble singing. Sadly, organists get carried away when put in charge of a gigantic toy with batteries of powerful sound effects - it seems to be all or nothing.
it may also have to do with mic placement and quality -- regardless of the registration used on the organ.
I agree it is the placement of the microphone picking up distorted sounds by Cantor and organ @@aBachwardsfellow
1 Come, ye thankful people, come, raise the song of harvest home; all is safely gathered in, ere the winter storms begin. God our Maker doth provide for our wants to be supplied; come to God's own temple, come, raise the song of harvest home. 2 All the world is God's own field, fruit as praise to God we yield; wheat and tares together sown are to joy or sorrow grown; first the blade and then the ear, then the full corn shall appear; Lord of harvest, grant that we wholesome grain and pure may be. 3 For the Lord our God shall come, and shall take the harvest home; from the field shall in that day all offenses purge away, giving angels charge at last in the fire the tares to cast; but the fruitful ears to store in the garner evermore. 4 Even so, Lord, quickly come, bring thy final harvest home; gather thou thy people in, free from sorrow, free from sin, there, forever purified, in thy presence to abide; come, with all thine angels, come, raise the glorious harvest home.
I love this hymn so much, it's the truth of God's Word, it sooths my soul. God is Eternal Light, Jesus is the light in heaven which illuminate that glorious eternal city.
Needs re-recorded to allow for organist’s hands to move in time with the piece.
Organist’s hands aren’t synced with the piece. Needs re-recorded for better syncing of organist’s hands with playing the piece.
Amen.
I was raised Episcopal, and I remember this hymn. Although I'm not religious anymore, I still love those old hymns.
I’m so sorry you were raised episcopal!
@@TheJakeman789 What's wrong with being raised Episcopal? You make it sound like some kind of misfortune.
Ahh huh ahh huh hug me
God is light, and in him their is no darkness at all. Jesus is also the light of this world, and the one who put their trust and faith in Jesus as their Lord and Saviour are light on this earth.
Cannot hear a word because of the loud organ which drowns the voices.
Loved it all except for the descant.
