    You need to get a pill of ducking and a transfer fan and blow all your sawdust into a common location where it can collect and later be moved

    Jennifer, What wonderful news! You got me emotional because I know how thrilled your Dad must be to have you guys moving close. How much better it will be to help build, garden, cook and just be around. I'm sure Dad wishes the same thing could happen with your brother as well. God Bless.

    Richard, I was a cabinet maker in my days of working. I would think that having that bucket on the end of your saw is going eventually take your blade out of plumb with the bed. Which will be an item to affect the squareness of the cut. I would think you need a dust collection set up. Just thinkin.

      I am going to get a small hose made for it to blow on the ground. Cheapest and quickest way to dispose. I don’t really want hoses hanging. The bucket isn’t really a good idea.

    The new sawmill is producing some nice lumber. Just a friendly suggestion, don’t waste your time or $$ making a tilting array. You will not see any gain from tilting it in the winter in your latitude. You will be fine with an incline of 30 to 40 degrees. I’m not claiming to be an expert but I’ve installed several hundred KW’s of solar. I’m currently doing the same thing you are, I’m milling my 6x6’s out of oak. I’m glad Jennifer is moving back to the property. Keep up the good work, you inspire me to do more. Just my 2 cents

    • @SmokyMountainOutpost
      @SmokyMountainOutpost Před dnem

      Good deal. I will have it built to tilt. It’s not going to be anything other than 1in bolts to swing on. With this mountain beside me I get 1 1/2 - 2 hours less sun per day than others in winter. Being able to direct it for optimal conditions is the best I can do in a short period of time. I do understand your thoughts though. That was my original plan. But my situation is different than most

      I know I will lose anywhere from 1/8 to 1/4 in on both sides. The way I build accommodates that. Certain build types may not work. Board/baton, Timber frame (mortise/tenon) will work with green material. Loss is in diameter and not length.
