2024 Jasper Wildfire Evacuation Experience
On Monday July 22, 2024 we were in Jasper and had to evacuate due to the wildfires. We tried to video some of our experiences during the evacuation process. Luckily everyone made it out of Jasper before the wildfires reached the town on July 25.

In this video we go to some of the best photography locations in Yosemite and explore the backcountry for 3 days and 2 nights in the winter. We hike the Mist Trail and Panorama Trail and check out Vernal Falls, Nevada falls, and Glacier Point. We camped both nights in Little Yosemite Valley, which requires wilderness permits (they are self-issued at the Valley Visitor Center during the winter)....

We have such fond memories from Whistler's camp and Jasper National Park last year. So glad you guys got out safely. It is so sad to see this terrible fire impacting so many people. We love Jasper and its community. Thank you for sharing this experience and take care.

So glad that you made it out okay. The fire situation is just devastating. We drive from Ontario to B.C. often and for the past few years it's been fires and smoke all along the way. I'm not sure if we'll be able to go back. :(

I was on the highland trail that week, the bugs were ferocious. I have the new flextail which worked pretty good while at camp. I'm hiking lacloche in kilarney next week, hope the black flies are done by then!!
I didn't know flextail had a mosquito repellant, I'll have to look into that. Nice hope they aren't too bad, I haven't done Kilarney before but hoping to this fall!

I was up north this past weekend and the black flies got me even when covered! This is a bad time for them, mid May to early June
We were hoping to deal with just blackflies, not mosquitoes too at this time of year!

nice video, i see you were walking on the road toward crescent meadow, but where did you camp an what trail did you hike? also what when was this trip? i am going up there in two weeks and looking for any update on conditions up there. thank you
Thanks! Yeah the way in we hiked the trail that goes along crescent meadow, and then a bit of the High Sierra trail and camped just outside the wilderness boundary. We were planning to go farther on the trail but it was too hard in the snow. This trip was January 3, so not sure on exact conditions right now but I think it's relatively warm there now and there would only be snow for a short period of time if it snowed overnight
