A brief snip taken from a longer video I made last week of the great conjunction of Jupiter and Saturn, made with the Nikon P900 camera, at 83x zoom (max zoom). Sorry for the shakes, at that high a zoom it's inevitable.

A short video of several astronomy vids I made with the Nikon P900, 83x zoom. Kind of jittery; it's hard to hold it still when zooming that much. I mounted the camera on an old telescope tripod.

The foreshadowing of this still gets me today.
The character's name is Catherine Sakai, played by Julia Nixon, and was an on again/off again girlfriend to Sinclair.
What episode is this?
Sorry, but it's Sakai.
Our first glimpse into the incredible character that G'kar would become.
One of the first episodes where I really started to appreciate G'Kar
G'Kar's preceding quote was also great, pretty much emblematic of the entire series: "No one here is exactly what they appear!"
That ant analogy's s kinda scary.
The 'evolution' or 'character arc' of G'Kar was one of the best in a great show.
This was during the time when they picked gorgeous women like her to be in these shows.
Sakai. Her name is Sakai.
B5's theme kicking in the right moment. Great ost, great performance. THIS is SCIFI done right.
Absolutely awesome
God I miss this level of writing in modern sci-fi...
Something I really love about B5 is the way they portray Humans as relative newcomers on the Galactic stage - we're curious, eager and, to a degree, cocky. Species that have been travelling the stars since before we had electricity regularly tell us "Don't open that door - we've learned not to poke some things" and we, inevitably, open that door. Sometimes, we find wonders nobody else dared dream of. And other times, the more experienced species has to yank us back at the last moment before we plunge into the abyss they warned us of.
RIP Andreas Katsulas. Hopefully you managed to uncover the secrets surrounding Sigma 957 and many others....
I think the first truly Earth-lie exoplanet ever discovered should be named Sigma 957.

I liked this show, so many great characters, being acted out in front of our eyes.
I think this was the first time we saw G'kar show his intellect, and that he wasnt just there to hate on the Centauri and be aggravated. Andreas was good in Star Trek, but i feel this show really let his talent shine.
Jesus the amount of dedication to sit there for all that makeup must have been just so intense. I'm sure G'kar's appearance also took a while.
The writing and certain performances far exceeded the effects and music
Hey, That's Rambos girl. From the movie. Shes also in star trek
Another example of the superlative writing of the show.
"...And I am both terrified and reassured to know that there are still wonders in the universe, that we have not yet explained everything..." God I love that line.
It is *Sakai,* not "Akai." 赤い means Red.
So even far in the future…women still don’t listen to intelligent instructions
"Picard - you are about to move into areas of the galaxy containing wonders more incredible than you can possibly imagine - and terrors to freeze your soul." - Q, Star Trek
One of my favs.
This show had such great character development. Early on i thought that G'kar was nothing else but a warrior archetype, but he proved me wrong down the stretch. Such great writing on that series.
This program was amazing, the storylines, acting and characters were some of the best, I'm glad it's available for free on freevee in it's entirely
The moment that G'Kar is revealed to be far more than the schemer he first appeared as.
I don't care what Sheldon Cooper (TBBT) thinks, Babylon 5 had some really great dialog. It was above his thinking like ours is above the ant.
This was/is a really good show. I do miss it.
Andreas Katsulas probably the best in B5, and there are a lot of great actors in it
The only thing unbelievable about this is that there are ants making it through Space on cargo when there would be huge contamination sweeps to kill them with radiation, it is almost like the ants were only there for him to make a poetic point.
It speaks to how far the races of the galaxy came in so short a time that by the end of the series, these same people are telling those beings to fuck off because they'd outgrown them.
I believe it's Sakai, not Akai.
The "Nothing is Sacred" cultural revolutionaries fail to see. They can't take this from us. We saw it, we loved it, we had it, and we let it go. Long before they ever tried to antagonize us by revising history or retconning, re-writing , re-imagining, rebooting any property that we loved into some twisted clown show. This memory, This is ours. And when our children hear of these shows, and we show them our old version. They'll turn against the clowns.. Oh yes.
There goes science and wisdom in one brief exchange.
O'Hare was very probably the worst actor in history. Mumy and Koenig were the best actors on the show.
How could they possibly reboot such stories and such an actor as Andreas?
One of my favourite ever TV scenes,
B5 is a great Sci fi show. Gave a new view on the genre.
G'kar has the best character arc. Mustache twirling villain to frick'n buddha. Not just in this episode. Mollari too has an interesting arc. Good show.
Damon, captain tamolok got a round !!!
is she sitting in the genitor's closet?
This teaching is not from God ! There is nothing higher or above God ! And you matter very much to God ! Matthew 10: 29-30-31; "What is the price of two sparrows-one copper coin? But not a single sparrow can fall to the ground without your Father knowing it. And even the very hairs of your head are all numbered. So don’t be afraid; you are more valuable to God than a whole flock of sparrows."
And it will be a much better viewpoint when we can let go of the Christian mythos, stop trying to apply it everywhere and learn to appreciate the world and the universe on it's own merits.
G'kar was a brilliant character
Babylon 5 was and is the best science fiction series that has ever been on TV. Bar none. It set a standard I truly believe has not and will not be equaled. It is so sad that we have lost so many of the original cast. I hope JMS will have full control of the remake.
