Check settings, maybe the sounds for the emotions are turned off. Or you're not torturing your sims enough. One of the two.

The histerical jingle is a nightmare for me, I don't know who the fuck on EA thought would be a good idea to put a death in a good looking mood. I've lost count of how many sims I've lost due to the complications of funny.
